Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

I told ya, but you didn't wanna listen to me when I said epoxy primer!

I'd have them just topcoat it too if it isn't too much more money. The epoxy primer will need to be topcoated within so many hrs of application and if you dont you'll have to mechanically rough the whole surface up. On a axle that means a lot of areas that will be hard to get to. I'd just have them do the topcoat even if they just rattle can it.

Ben,

I went through this about two months ago. After I got the frame, axle housings, springs, etc. back from the 'blaster I prepped it with metal ready, put two coats of semi-gloss POR 15 and top coated it with semi-gloss Chassis Coat.

I don't have any long term experience with POR 15, so I can't accurately compare it to other options. My impression is it's far superior to basic rattle can paint.

Couple pics my mom or sis took on their cell phone,

My favorite parts are:

1. The golf impersonator with the Bermuda shorts and black socks.
2. The "twist-proof" flag twisted convincingly around the pole.

Carry on. :waytogo:

x2. I was crackin up but didn't say anything
Yeah, thats one of my neighbors, who likes to tell me I`m doing things the right way, and how to fix my grass, etc. He once poured in a little conrete wall along the length of the gap in fence between propertys, because when I cut the grass, it would all blow down in there, and I couldn`t get in his yard to sweep it up, because his fence was always locked  He`s a good guy though:p::p:

Should be getting picked up tonight hopefully

And quite a few orders have come in :D

Well, the frames done! Hopefully the rain holds off tomorrow, so I can start working on the motor.

Back from blasting and ready for paint!

And last but not least, the flat black top coat. Even cleaned up the frame and axles a little, and rattle canned em black again.

Ben,

Very, Very Cool!!

You MUST take your Mom out to a nice restaurant for dinner. She's Awesome and I guarantee she would greatly appreciate it!

Wow Ben! That turned out really nice. Makes me wish I went that extensive when my truck was torn down to the frame

LOOKS NICE

Now that you've got that frame lookin so good you're gonna make the rest of it too clean too like I did. hahaha. Or you'll regret not boxing the frame too like I also have. haha.

Looks like it was well worth the time and money... even though most of those areas won't see the light of day anymore at least we'll know they're clean and rust protected :)

Motor`s getting there...

Got the new oil pump in, one piece oil seal, cam/lifters in, timing set in, new timing cover seals, head/head gaskets in, everything torqued down, and just painted it red:woot:

pics soon...

is this thing done yet:confused:

:haha:
:haha::haha::haha::haha:

Yeah, its slow moving, but its getting there. Got all my fuel/brake lines, new tank/sending unit, tranny and t-case are bolted together. Got a decent amount done.

My work shift kind of sucks, 2PM to anywher from 11PM-1AM. OT is good though...

Since I`ve started full time, its been nothing but work in the yard/house, work, then sleep, and repeat.

Tomorrow I`ll get the motor mounts in, and the tranny mounts in, finish up what I can on the motor, maybe paint the waterpump and stick that on. I think I need to check out the front end in my truck now, to make sure nothings fugged up. When we were loading it on the trailer, it squeezed by the wheel wells, but when it did, both tires looked like they kicked in on the bottoms. I have the knuckles/spindels on my other axle, and spare 8 bolt hubs, so I can swap those out if need be, but I`ll check it out first.

Still need to get the clip thinga mabobs to bolt the lines to the rail.

It`s getting there :wink1:
