Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

I know you're doing something else now.. but just out of curiousity how were you going to make the rear window work with the truck tailgate? I'm trying to figure out something simliar right now.. don't need a window that rolls up or down and the truck tailgate with the external handle would be nice.

Well, for right now, I actually have the rear window rigged up in there, and screwed to a wall of wood.

Now comes the tricky part. I may be getting an 82, 2wd, and using the cab. It also comes with a carbed 350 with less than 55k on it. Should I swap it onto my frame, and use the 82 harness, or swap my 90 harness to the cab?

What about getting a new harness for my year truck, and putting it in the 82 cab? It would probably make the swap a whole lot easier.

leave the tbi..... fix ur trucks rust... call it a day
Fixing my trucks rust is out of the question now, as it would involve replace the roof. Its nastier than I thought, and a cab swap would just be much easier, not to mention give me what I always seem to try and talk my self into buying, a pickup.

I say put the 82 cab on your frame with the 82 engine and swap your TBI onto that engine. Then get a brand new harness from painless so you can work with all new wires and eliminate any spaghetti.

Of coarse you should clean and paint the engine if it isn't already, and also maybe do a mild cam and have the heads worked on it.... and go for an aftermarket tbi intake that flows better, then some headers. you know what **** it throw a blower on top of it! :saweet:

exactly. Up until now, I was never positive about using an older engine with the newer TBI. Never actually seen it on here. But, heaphys got it, so it must work?:D

Made a big step in my build. Hopefully this cures my problems with decision making and changing my mind:o :D

Pics!

Was a 1 ton dump. All re done at a bodyshop. 55k on it. 350 with all original emmisions junk on it. TBIs going on it, and its going on my frame. This thing is in great shape! Got a hell of a deal, not too mention all the extras it came with:eek1: :D

PICS!

Enough brake parts from napa to replace every component in a rear axle. Its 6 lug. Too big for 10b, is it for a 12b or 14bsf?

NICE CLEAN CAB!!! :bow::bow::bow:

Edit: I'd go ahead and pay the bucks for a pro-installed bedliner job, both inside and underneath. You'll keep the rust at bay and now's the perfect time!

The plastic piece with all the different colors is a turn signal switch inside the collumn.

Yes, very!

As for the bedliner. I though about it. Only thing the underside needs is seam sealer on the welds. I think I`ll end up just rust bulleting it. Maybe durabak it myself. But I`ll definitely price the cost for Line X or Rhinoliner to do it.

Lookin good, sorry i couldnt help ya get it home... You wanna get rid of any parts?... ill PM you
