Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

My memory cards still missing, so pics are doubtful, but I DO plan on working on the truck this weekend, no less than a few hours each day :wink1:

List of things to do:

  • put real bolts in the exhaust hangers, then snug up the rest of the exhaust
  • now that the radiator is in the truck permantly, hook up the tranny cooler lines to it
  • install cab visor (roof has inserts, well "nutserts", and it was a major PITA to find what size hardware it used)
  • bring the inner wheel wells in, clean them up, and shoot some undercoating on them
  • possibly install them
  • somehow manage to work on the carpet a little without hacking the crap out of it
  • come up with a way to temporarily mount the gauges, just until I can get Kert to send me a dash :D
  • and finish researching the propane deal
I'm just about sold on it, just need to make sure I can do it for a reasonable amount of $$.

as far as the propane, its a cool idea but unless you have a big tank then you really have to plan whenever you want to take trips.

Out here it works pretty well for rigs that are trailered to the trail head and have 3 or 4 extra tanks in the tow rig. Plus propane is a lot cheaper than gasoline.

Right now propane is going for $1.00 a gallon here, some people dont think about it but most any place that rents equipement usually fills tanks as well.

I don't drive much, just back and forth to work, NH once in a while, run to the store, etc. I figure if I have two or three propane tanks (I believe they are 8 or ten gallons), I'll be good to go :wink1:

Made some progress today. Got some real bolts in the exhaust hangers, and got all the clamps and collectors snugged up. Got the roof visor mounted with some screw caps on the screws. Also got the plumbing for the tranny lines finished, as well as dug some parts out of the shed.

Thanks to my buddy, we got a good amount done this morning. Got the carb pulled, the mechanical fuel pump and the pushrod pulled, installed the block-off plate, pulled all the fuel lines, dropped the tank, and got the carpet in (for the most part). Need to take the heat gun to the carpet in some spots, and get the moldings for the door sills, and some boots for the shifters.

Went a step back, kind of, as far as getting it running, but it's progress none-the-less!

Seat came in this morning. Glad I ordered the extra wide!

Or used his phone by the looks of it. :waytogo:

No delicate way to say this..... NEK5, how big is your a$$? :ignore:

In other words, at what point does one want to get the extra wide? :o

I'm in a 44 size pants:o, so, I'd say 40+

No build updates, but I did spring for a new camera and reader. Getting sick of using my sisters pink camera , even though I haven't for a while since the cards have gone missing.

So, I went to Circuit City, knowing they're closing, and figured I could get a good deal. Walked out with a Sony Cyber Shot 750, and a 1GB Sony Pro Duo memory card/reader for $108 :woot::woot::woot::woot:

Well, since I got a new camera, I figured I'd take a couple shots for you guys to look at.

Well, my buddy came down in the morning, and we were able to get the sill plates in, and the seat tracks in enough so I can make the rest of the mounts.
Also took a couple shots of the visor all mounted up.

looking good! glad you got a good deal on the camera. the news is talking about how circuit city raised all of the prices then marked them down. they showed how a tv there marked down 30% was $500 more than best buy:doah:

I like your build looks really good:D
