Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

To start, paint/body work is not a big thing to me...I just want it to be one color....and look 'decent'. I'm stuck between a semi gloss or flat black, and gloss white...and do I rattle can it, or spray it with a gun? What say you?

I'm about to start paint on my truck in a week or so. Ive been back and fourth with tractor supply paint or rattle can camo. My previouse k5 was white. If you want to go with white i would def. spray it on with a gun. It all depends on how much time you want to spend on it. I think i'm gonna go with the rattle can camo job.

rattle can= a year tops before it starts wearing through or pealing off I wouldnt even give it 6 months before its faded and yuky looking.

spray it with real paint youll be much happier

actually drove my truck today (and ran it out of gas in front of someone's house about 5 houses down) doh!!!! it's gettin there!!!!

C'mon Ben......final push! :waytogo:

Don't waste money and time trying to come up with a tarp solution. You've still got at least a month left before it gets REALLY cold, just call in a couple of favors and get some help putting final color on that truck. A small compressor and spray gun will get you there without too much effort. If you want to go "concours" later on you can scuff and re-shoot in the spring.

It would be way better to see it parked in the driveway with a little snow on it from time to time (which you can easily brush off) rather than wrapped in an ugly tarp for another winter. You're neighbors might appreciate it more too.....

I'm not worried about covering it up anymore, everythings pretty much sealed (that thread about covering up a truck was from last year :wink1:) I think you're right, I'll definitely need to call in a couple favors to get it done. I'm doing my best to get it on the road, if it weren't for my fockin insurance company. I let my policy get cancelled when I had the s10 (it got cancelled because I forgot to when I sold it) and now they want an arm and a dick to start a policy. I'd have enough to do it this week (today was payday) but my dash from DIY4X is done (not complaining about that by any means, I can't wait to see it!:D), so I got to pay the rest of it off, and after I pay rent, that put's me just below what I need to do it :( BUT...this time I'm going to save most of the money, so next payday it's do it to it. I should be able to get all the quirks straightened out by then. I think I figured out what we're doing wrong with the timing, so I want to start from scratch with that, then work out the bugs in the carb. It's definitely getting there. I mean, cmon, I just drove that b!tch for the first time in two years :p::p::p::p::p:

and proof!!!! after I ran it out of gas five houses down :doah:

How about you buy my stepside bed and shorten it to fit the blazer chassis. The difference is pretty much just cutting out the steps. Should be real easy to do.
