Great build. Did you ever find out the issue of the 2wd to 4wd motor mounts?

I just chalked them up to buying with out doing enough research. I've decided to just build some, though if someone were to tell me of a factory 4WD pair that would swap in, I would probably use them.

Gawd that pretty!

Thanks dude. I saw "205 from a 91 crew cab" on CL, called and asked the dude about the tailhousing, and said "SOLD!"

Here are some more detailed shots of the adaptor. I'll have a for sale thread up once I get it cleaned up some.

I don't know what is wrong with the one you have but the factory mounts 2wd and 4wd will interchange, the difference is the height of the bolt hole from the base plate is about 1/4" more on the 4wd.
From your pics it looks like it did fit, I don't see what the problem is?
Only 3 bolts are actually used if you were expecting all 4 bolts to fit, that i snot the case.

Reread the post:
The 4wd plates will fit with minor trimming, for some reason the are a tight fit and most times they will fit, but sometimes they need some trimming and sometimes just some massaging of the frame area.

I shelved them, but from memory there was no way to trim them to fit without trimming off the metal that has the bolt holes through it. I will dig them back out when I go to the shop.

Anymore updates? This is the first time I have ever seen this thread. Looks interesting.

Don't cut the holes in the arms. You know they're just going to stay packed up with mud if they have holes anyway. Man this is going to be one cool truck when you're done.

My parents live in Berrien County, btw.

technically it would add strength, but to me that's a fair amount of labor for something that is mainly about esthetics... my effort would go elsewhere...

Cut the holes and sleeve em with tube. It will look ballin everytime your under the truck :D

I agree Adam...unless of course the truck is downsideup....then they would be a highlight of viewing.

Liking the setup so far!

Thanks everyone for weighing in and the compliments. I showed the Grand Judge (my girlfriend) the picture and she liked it so now I'm stuck with doing it.:haha: I tried free handing the 2" hole with the torch (which came out looking like asshole), then a holesaw for the 2.5", and then I rigged up a crude circle cutter for the 3" hole.

I decided to use a holesaw for both of the small holes and the circle cutter for the 3" only.

I also got my motor mounts made up and am just waiting on some DOM to make the frame side mounts.
