Well some other builds maybe on hold for a bit as I am trying to see if I can acquire one of the new Warn Zeon 12000lb winches.

Its a product from Blue Sea which make some really good boat oriented electronics. Ie small, compact design for minimal spaces, 12V and typically waterproof. We are hoping to be offering these soon.

Have you tested these with an Iphone?

Is it picky, or does it work well?
 
Its a regular 5v output like any other USB port. It does the same thing as a cigarette lighter plug adapter. this does two ports, is flush mounted and has a dust cover.

Understood, but do you have an iphone? Lots of 5v usb ports don't cooperate. Can't tell you why, but they don't. Ive recently stuck to the belkin ones with good luck.

These sockets are really popular amongst Overlanders, Most of which use Apple products. I will see if I can find out for sure and let you know.
 
Its good to know someone already builds something like that. I've been wanting to install something like that instead of having the dumb adapter plugged into the cigarette lighter than comes loose.

Been busy on other project and trying to figure out which was best way for cooling options. This is this weekends project

Adding a tranny cooler, inline tranny filter, Power steering cooler. Tranny temp gauge sending unit and thermal controlled 10" auxiliary fan.

NOTE: right after this pic I found a better way for plumbing so the brass pieces will change tomorrow.

NOTE 2: the B&M LPD HD coolers are the same ones made for Tru-Cool coolers and is made by a company called LONG in Canada. This company makes factory HD coolers for OEM options. The factory oil cooler I have is a LONG brand cooler with even the same patent #s.

i put my filter in the trans "out" line, before the coolers. my thoughts are that the fluid would flow through the element better hot.
 
I thought about that too but my re-thought was you would want the filter after everything else and right before the item you are trying to protect from contaminants.
 
there is already filter right before the pump, in the pan. in the big picture, i doubt it'll make any difference one way or the other...but i went through the same thought process.

dhcomp's thread helped me through the process.


when i did mine, i changed the internal filter, put a deep pan on, did the plumbing, blew the cooling system out with compresed air, purged the trans/torque converter with 5 gallons of fresh fluid, then hooked everything up and topped it off.
 
Cooler mounted up. Man this has turned out to be a huge PITA especially with having to go from a 1/2NPT to a 5/16 barb with two 1/8"NPT ports for sensors.

Tomorrow is fan and wiring and power steering cooler... yay!

make sure the hood safety lach doesn't interfere with the cooler when the hood is closed.

just sayin'...somebody i know mighta had that happen :whistle:
