Project OVERKILL - Ppump 24v Fummins swap started

Dang, I love that colour . . . . .

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the donor truck?

Its Cummins red (Apex red) high solid engine enamel. got rattle cans from western canada cummins.

Oh and $2000 for the complete '95 2500 4wd Dodge.

Thanks big daddy.

I love it. I knew this is what i always wanted to build. but now that it sort of exists. I love it. I wnted to build this truck LOOOONG before i bought my dodge. just didn't have the means at the time. now I've got my very own 8000lb 4wd hotrod racetruck dailydriver toyhauler :D

mainly because the 4wd shop i ordered my lift kit through decided to jerk me around for a month, so I made a snap decision to go with the low pro look.

That's a shame about that.....the "big rig" tall rim/tall tire combo looks awesome on pick-ups. I'm loving this 'build up, man....keep up the good work.

Man, I remember when you were trying to sell this beast - and I was thinkin' about gettin' it, too!! haha Bet you're glad you didn't ditch it now, ain't ya....

Not real soon. I have a major fitment issue come up. the tcase need to sit entirely and directly where the IFS torsion bar crossmember is. So I'm working on a couple avenues for fixes. fabricating longer torsion bars seems tobe the best option right now. SAS is not an option I'm considering right now. I don't own the diffs that I'd want to use. and the low rider look would be gone. changes the whole truck.

CC59... scott have you ever had a customer use the dodge tranny and tcase in a IFS truck swap before? just curious if anyones run into this before. does the chevy tranny and tcase fit i don't think so. i did a quick measurement and the 4500 BW1440 would have interference issues too.

Wouldn't a divorced t-case be less work than trying to extend the torsion bars? Although I don't know if you could convert your tranny to work with this without tearing it back down.

swapping to a2wd case would be a total teardown again. but might be something i should give more though to though.

the spot I'm in is a major deal any way i slice it.

In the 1/2 burbs I use the 47rh trans and the stock t-case and swap input shafts and since the rh is so long I notch the t-bar member for the t-case to set in and replate the member . I have never used a dodge t-case in any of my conversions and as far as I know they used the stock t-case .

Now since you have that Bw 1440 which is bigger than 243 you may have to notch it as well .

Ah cool. I found a divorced ford 205 here locally, so I also discovered to swap to a 2wd 47rh is just remove and change the OD housing. don't have to touch the main case. much easier than I thought. thats how its going to go down. and I can get rid of the steady bearing make a 1 pce rear shaft. it'll be good.

are you still doing the six inch lift? i have kept up with progress but didnt know if i overlooked something

So are you going to put the div 205 behind the TB crossmember? Will that mean youll have to lay it more flat so the front driveline will go over the TB crossmember?

I guess where its still IFS the front diff doesnt move so a bit of an angle (if you have to) wont matter much right?

thats the plan the front diff doesn't move in relation to the frame so it'll be a fixed angle between the tcase and diff. yes, plan is to put 205 behind the torsionbar crossmember. that will allow me to get rid of the steady bearing on the rear d-shaft. and I can use the steady bearing crossmember to mount the tcase. have 1 piece front and rear drive shafts/

wow big lag in updates.........took most of dec off to re engineer the drivetrain  but tcase is in looks like everything is going to work just fine. converted the tranny to 2wd. wireing harness is mostly in. had to notch the hood rib slightly to fit the arcflow intake horn. fitup the turbo to intercooler pipeing all looks good.
