I love the 8V92...Built a few 8V92's and 6V53's. I have had a strange, strange love for those old 2-stroke Dietroits ever since.

149s at full boogie are the tits. Waaay better than any of this little ****.

No not in a vehicle if thats what you think I'm thinking.

I work on 30-80 liter engines regularly. Gensets, power units, oilfield frac, dozers, heavy haulers. That's where I hear my music. And like I said, I like them Waaay better than that little crap.

Emds don't sound as nice. EXCEPT when the blower drive lifts off the geartrain. That's a cool sound.

Agreed, I love the sound of a big diesel.

This is similar to what I work on: (kinda sounds like a big sewing machine)

Ya see I like the sound of medium size stuff better.

We installed and commissioned 10 - 20v4000 MTUs gens in the South Calgary hospital. 3.2 Megawatt 13,200 volt. each. this is running no load, rated speed.

and this is annual load test on a 1.2 Megawatt 600 volt 12v149 Detroit. this is full load, rated speed.

Did get my hands on some 9 ply intercooler boots, after a couple 149 jobs. I will intergrate them into my truck somehow :thumb:

put some billet door handles in, place of the oem plastic ones. hopefully little harder to steal now. turned out pretty good I guess.

72mm GT42 beside the 88mm HT4C. Was planning on running the GT42 as a single with a bushing, to pull in the 2.6" class. but well see how that turns out. maybe have to put a 64mm over the 88mm and let 'er buck.

lol kinda revealed some of the stash in that pic. 2 big turbos, 2 8-71 blowers, a BBC cam, 3 BBC heads, 37" toyo, one BBC header Shhhhhh....

Sexy, sexy.

Dumb question on the door handles...do they have locks? Hidden locks or something?

That Cummins is huge! You sure its going to fit?

Btw I do love the MTUs :waytogo:

It's the same size as every other generation of 6B. External Block dimensions are the same so I have no worries.

Oh, it looked bigger to me :doah:

Was it out of an industrial application with the blue paint?
