Project OVERKILL - Ppump 24v Fummins swap started

I wonder what the problem was there. EGT too high? Looked like only one port per cylinder wasn't messed up. Was it an intake port that was still good on each one?

No those are exhaust ports. The bottom and right side valve in each pic is exhaust. The top and left are intake.

I'm not sure exactly why but 24v VP heads are most prone to cracking. But mine was exceptionally bad. Like worst one the machinist has seen that was still functioning. Lol. The engine was running just fine when I took it apart. But it was perfectly stock as well.

Little like Christmas today.

Block cleaned up at .020" not bad for a 525,000 km engine. Mines the one on the left. All three are cummins blocks.

Dave just think I'll be driving it to deaners on the 29th. And today it sits with a 7 cylinder powerstroke in it. Replacement engine is a bare block right now. Today is the 8th. I'll bet I can be wheeling to Deaners with the swap done. 64/80 twins on Ppump 24v 2005 G56 6 speed complete repower.

Barring an Apocalyptic set back I think we can swing it. My buddy Rob Winkford will be standing in while I'm at work.

The only thing right now that could really **** me up is the machine shop hasn't actually cut my new head for orings. Dust up there is the only thing that could put this plan into fullstop.

This is very exciting!!!

balls to the wall man! that will be way cool Luke! Excited to see it.

Swapped inputs in my 273. So I can retain my push button ford case and still bolt it to the back of a G56. Installed a dodge input to my ford case.
