Project Penny - All good things must come to an end

The 241 was perfectly fine! Never hurt a thing, haha! It was actually my transmission shift cable making the noise. When the driveshaft separated it bent the bracket that holds the transmission shift cable over so the cable was rubbing against the side of the CV.

After straightening the bracket out, no more bad noises!

nice when things happen in a good way huh?

Yup!

So after haggling all day, the best price I am gonna get on the dmax is 7500. I figure I can drop the 6.5L / 4l80e from the Tahoe into it and get approx 4 - 5k for it on a re-sale.

That gets me a LB7 / ZF6 / NP261XHD for 2500 - 3000, which is pretty dang good in my books.

What say CK5? Should I drop a deposit on it and go for broke?

Your tahoe has a 4l80e in it?:dunno:

Thought for sure even the diesel's got the 4l60e

That's a pretty cool Dmax truck. Not to add more to your plate, but a solid axle and SRW conversion with about 6 inches with 40s or 42s would be Bdass.

Ok, carry on. I would love to have a manual diesel.

I vote leave the Tahoe the way it is and buy the dmax because its awesome

Cool factor, and way faster... I do have turbo issues with the 6.5L, but I can fix that for about 1k, vs 3!

The biggest thing this truck gets me is that manual transmission for my 07. The Duramax swap is really more of a side benefit than anything. I'd get a 8.1L / ZF6 instead if that were to pop up

the only flaw I can see is your gonna have 3 rigs tore down all at once the do you have alternate transportation?

oops nevermind, you can drive the Tahoe while you do the ZF swap and THEN do the Dmax swap.

I'm not sure how your idea of putting the 6.5 in the flatbed will pan out you might be better off just parting it out

I found the biggest problem....

Evidently you have too much money. You need to start sending some this way.

:D

480k, doh! I owe under 350k on it after a year's ownership paying the bare minimum so my company pays the most possible. 4 more years and I'll go to weekly payments and pay double the requirement. Should have it finished off pretty quick. My home is approx 1/4 of my monthly income, 1/4 goes into savings and investments, the other half I blow on my trucks
