Project "RESPAWN" - 1972 K5 Blazer

Cool stuff here!
I never had problems with mine either. But everyone is different. I have my seat up against the step up in the back to have enough room for my legs.

I have that wheel from classic in my '72 C10. I still wish that it was 15" even after getting the shorter shifter and bending the turn signal lever to make more room to NOT catch it by accident. Plus it would have less blocking of the gauges with the tilt down some.

Actually, I think 15.5" would be best for me!
The original doesn't block the gauges at from what I remember.

Looks like I need a new steering box, and no I'm not going to get a 2wd box and go x-over... at this time.

Nun Killer has been a turn of phrase around a few threads here for the last few months. The gist is someone wants to upgrade a part on their truck like a rear diff and chooses a 14 SF over a 14 FF. Some reactions to a decision like that were a little over the top, so the 'line' was "using a part like that is bound to kill a car load of nuns".

So, now when anyone chooses anything that isn't over the top hardcore...it get's labelled "Nun killer". The 14 SF is a great example of a part we've been calling nun killer.

Seeing as your build doesn't seem to be headed down the "ultra 4" road, "Nun Killer" kinda fits. It's a compliment, it says you're making choices based on real world usage, budget, etc versus having to have the biggest and baddest of everything just because.

New steering box, huh?

Might as Well loosen the nuts/bolts to take the tub off the frame while your down there. That is the way of the 1st gen, after all. Lol

This project is the exact opposite of "Might as Well"... trying to keep it in driving condition and financial sane.

I think that is a fantastic plan. I've done my best to do my mods in small bites so as to keep it drivable in between. I save big projects that might put me out of commission for a couple of months for the winter and make it a goal to be road worthy again by spring.

Yeah I got sucked into that. Hence the reason my blazer has been down for 9 yrs instead of a running driving half ton getting slowly built up. I was like "I got some axles and a lift might as well throw them on" . Bad idea!
