Project "RESPAWN" - 1972 K5 Blazer

Cool stuff here!
I figured the first thing you did was check fluids. It’s always good to check again after it runs a little. That way you know the converter is full after sitting for the winter.

There's a metal button on the cable just behind the bracket, hold that in and slide the cable sleeve all the way in. Then get in the truck and push the pedal to the floor. The cable sleeve will pop out as much as it needs to be adjusted properly.
Hmmm, I couldn't really get behind the bracket but didn't feel anything like a button either.

When I pushed the tab in on the cable at the front side of the bracket and tried to pull the cable forward it just sprung back no matter what I did.

Looking at it some more it looks like my bracket broke on a previous owner and they just bolted a piece of metal to the original bracket to install the throttle cable to.

Shouldn't the TV cable and throttle cable be connected to the same bracket?

They don't have to be on the same bracket, they just need to have proper geometry and travel range.
The button on the cable is probably not what you would think, at least by feel. This is what it looks like. The brass/gold colored part.

Thanks! Because of the extra bracket I could not see it at all.

Awesome build! just read the whole thread. I love how you're keeping it factoryish. That was my goal with my latest K5 make it look factory, they're cool trucks when they were new. Your sheet metal guy inspired me to try that on my tailgate. I have some welding skill, welder, sheetmetal and no money to pay "that guy". I vote get a factory steering wheel. With the top off the aftermarket wheels scream modified.

Huh?

Didn’t you spend hours meticulously removing rattlecan paint to reveal the original blue paint underneath? :dunno:

That was just the inside of the doors, the outside was always un-savable.

Need to finish up the metal work on the inside and then install factory seats/seatbelts etc..

Not sure why one of the previous owners painted the inside of the top red. lol

The condition of the factory seats that he has scary.
I will be curious to see what they look like now.

And is there a chance that we will see this at BB19?

No way this thing is ready for a long road trip yet, just needs more money thrown at it.

The seats are EXACTLY the same as I haven't touched them yet. (future ebay seat covers until reupholstered). and some duct tape.

Well, crap, sorry to hear that...

But I haven't gone leaps myself lately..

Carry on.

So, took the grill out today, it's in great shape but want it stock color, thinking it may be easier to just buy a new one than to paint strip and paint again etc.. Are they all the same, who has the best quality/price etc.?

Also, there are numbers and made in Canada on the back, is that OEM?
