Project "RESPAWN" - 1972 K5 Blazer

Cool stuff here!
I’m sure even a NOS eggcrate inner wouldn’t be too expensive. It’s the early 69-70 inner that people pay big $$$ for... because it says “CHEVROLET” and makes it harder to reproduce with GMs blessing.

"If" the repop inner grills are decent not sure I would want an expensive piece of plastic on the very front of a vehicle. I would be sick if a lady in her mini van backed into it.

Looks like my grill is indeed OEM, hard to believe it isn't broken anywhere.

I did the inner repop as well, as mine had the cracks where the hood latch is. No issues after a few years. Would love if someone made a production of aluminum ones some day.

@ashman

Didn’t Josh do a complete waterjet eggcrate grille project like 10 years ago? :thinking:

@IGOR was making those with Makovai. IGOR changed jobs and didn’t have access to the cool tools anymore and makovai sold his truck.

Thank you. It’s been a long time since I thought about that one. :)

What brand?

What brand? Any issues?

I got both of mine from Brothers. Fit is pretty good. Not perfect, but way better than the "billet" stuff that was on it when I bought it.

I got mine from http://www.truckandcarshop.com/

Which probably has the same cheap parts as lmc, but it worked out well. I just didn't want a broken one and honestly was the cheapest solution at the time.
Nothing wrong with that, I am thinking about getting one because I don't feel like stripping and painting the one I have.

Totally forgot about that myself. I really hope he still does it. I'd be in for 2 at this point.
I don't know if I posted, or if you guys remember, but he found one dimension that he was not 100% on in the bars. He was trying to get a test one cut last week, but I don't think he found time yet. So he is probably a ways out from making a complete and installed version yet.
But I don't know if it will even end up in a price range that @CK5 , or others will like.

That's cool that he's still tweaking it. I do wonder what it would cost to create a one-off for someone with access to the tools he has. I don't even have a clue what materials and consumables would cost for that.
