Project Smoke Wagon

1984 GMC Jimmy 383 Stroker | SM466
Anyone know if the doors are a 1 or 2 man job? The doors on my old 78 Camaro weighed 150lbs each. I have to use a ratchet strap in the rafters to get them on.

I’ve done it before by myself, but that was 20 yrs ago lol. It’s more the awkwardness than the weight.

I can do them myself, but a 33 gallon trash barrel under the door is much better

Good time to check/replace the pivot pin bushings on that clutch pedal
You know, Might as Well...

yeah the little plastic sleeve type? Those are gone. There was just a fragment left. They’re all apart and in paint now.

Not sure where to drill the hole in the floor.

there isn’t a factory dimple in the floor like I thought there would be.....

Wanting to replace this old ripped up dirty rubber floor mat
looking at bulk rubber mat and and using a heat gun to mold it to the truck.

seems like everyone just buys the LMC or ACC mats here. Would be cool to see more diy stuff.

I recommend a second person to help with the doors. As stated, one guy can do it, but since you have straight metal and nice paint, i'd ask for help...

Drilled out my pedal to fit this metal bushing I had laying around. I wouldn’t have drilled the pedal normally but the hole was elongated to the point it had to be. Now there will be no play in the linkage from this end.

Welp, big change of plans now. After finding where to drill I looked underneath to make sure it’s clear of everything. Well, my shock tower goes right there underneath the body. Looks like I’ll be in the market for a hydro set up sooner than later
