Propane powered DD *Spark Plug, and mounting questions*

What the?....just adjust your timing to show 10 deg before TDC ie initial advance, and have your dizzy re-curved to have 9 deg (1 deg on dizzy = 2 at crank) come on full by 2250-2500rpm. Full advance will then be approx 28 deg (10 initial + 9x2 at dizzy). You may have to play around with lighter springs to achieve this, you'll only have to pull your dizzy if you get a shop to play with the curve for you.

So What would be recommended if I were to piece a kit together? Should I piece it together or buy a kit from somewhere?
 
I cant speak with any authority on whats available in the US to build your own system, however I would advise that if you have to ask that question, your best of with a full kit supplied with detailed instructions, from a reputable vendor.

You just cant afford to mess around with a pressured fuel system like propane on a vehicle, play it safe brother.

I have been researchin and I know what I need. I just think Im gonna have a certified person put it on. I heard that's the best thing to do
 
I ordered the whole kit, as I'd rather have it all there, with a nice set of instructions, as well as the benefit of customer service, if needed.
 
GotPropane.com. I probably made a stupid decision by ordering there, as they're prices were a little higher, but its all there, they upgrade alot of the stuff to silicone for longer service life, etc, and the guy was super cool on the phone, and told me to call back anytime if I had a problem during installation.
 
i thought he was good with it also, he said the kit would work for me.... but alot of people told me it would not be enough, you have a stock 350 so it will be perfect for you.....

4 barrel Holley, Edelbrock, Ford,Chevy,Mopar etc...with squarebore manifold. This is the most common intake pattern on most V6 and V8 4 barrel engines. Especially with aftermarket intake manifolds. This is propane only.

Haha yea when ISO it I will prob take out the whole gas setup. Tank and all. Guess there will be no need for it
 
I can't tell by the pictures. Does it come with a throttle plate?

One thing I'm still stuck on is tanks. 10 gallon tank could get me anywhere from 80-100 miles, that's about a week worth of driving back and forth to work from me. Do I grab 3, mount 2 on the rig, keep one at home? get a 100 pounder (23 usable gallons, IIRC), and the 2 10 gallon tanks for long trips? Decisions, decisions.:haha:
 
heres what im thinking. anybody please let me know if this wont work. i wanna pull the gas tank out since there would be no need, then place two tanks in there with the skid plate still covering them. i could cut up the bed to make it like a hatch. this way i could pull them out. now i havent gotten in there so im not sure if there would be anything in the way but it seems lijke this would work.
the kit i posted, im not sure i cant remember if it does. i think it comes with everything

I'm not 100% sure the tanks will fit width or lengthwise unless you remove the forward most xmember (front tank mount)

yea i havent really done measuring...i figure you can get atleast one in there but i might take some mearsurement this weekend and try to figure it out. i think it would be a sweet setup if i could get it worked out
 
Couple more questions for you boys.

Spark plugs: What are you running, got a part number?

Tank: I'm thinking of running a 100 lber, which is portable(enough), and can hold 23.?? usable gallons, and can be had for less than $150 new. My question is, adapters. I know I'd need one, as the systems designed to be use'd with forklift tanks. Are these available?

Another tank question. I was asked if the 100lb tank could even be layed on its side. Can it? :crazy:
