need to find a different rag joint then what i bought with the box as that one does not fit i guess the 2wd and 4wd boxs use different ID rag joints. also debating on which highsteer arms i want to get i am looking at springless arms but dont know which brand to get (springless meaning the king pin spring is removed and its adjusted by a set screw) any one who has any advice on the arms please comment it would be very helpful

Instead of messing with the rag joint you should look into an xj shaft mod. K85octane has a good thread on them. I hear its an awesome mod for dirt cheap

Id search xj shaft and look for s thread by k85octane. Great thread on it.

Its a Cherokee shaft, NOT A GRAND.... Anyways its from around 87-96ish, not sure of exact year. Anyways its a great cheap deal. All you may have to do is grind a slot in the factory column stub for the Xj pinch bolt can "pinch" down. Youl figure it out as soon as you go to bolt it up. I did it and the steering is much chrisper now, I like it, plus honestly it looks cool. lol

yes i know to use a cherokee shaft(xj) and not one from a grand(zj) i am already looking into getting a few of these so i can build a shaft to angle around shock mounts

I used these arms. They have had some improvements and revisions since then but i was happy with them. They are also the cheapest on the market. Munepit runs them as well IIRC

im alive dont worry....

hey guys havent been on in almost a month now. things have been extremely tight here at school. jobs have been hard to find and i bought ran my funds dry just trying to live. but luckily this week has gone well and i finally found a job that will work around my school schedule and even allow me to go home for thanksgiving and christmas! as far as the blazer goes i had lost alot of motivation over the past few weeks and had my mind elsewhere especially when sandy hit back home. luckily the family wasnt harmed and our property wasnt damaged. power outtages and other things did cause a stir though and everyone is still struggling. only thing i really got done was started on the shackle flip witch btw knocking out rivets with a cut of wheel, chisel, and hammer really sucks..... i wish i had air tools at the house

so only have one side done but now that i have an income i will be able continue and finally finally be able to order some parts so hopefully i will have some more interesting news and info for everyone in the near future.

holy tail pan batman...

updates!
finshed the shackle flip, painted and installed the 2wd box, decided the best way to fix the tailpan would be just to replace it with another or something more beefy. needless to say once i got in out(fell out in two pieces and i didnt cut it in half...) it was a mess so im thinking a 4x4 piece of boxsteel will be taking its place

Another cool build to keep track of!

I love budget builds..
When I got into this I could barely pay for gas to drive my 4x4.
Nice work, keep it up!

thanks! i built this truck in high school it was my first truck ive ever owned and built it right off the bat. more blood, sweat, and tears into this thing then probably anything else.

Don't let the rust beat you. I have played that game and rust tries to wear you down.
yeah im not to worried plan is to copy the design of the tail pan with 1/4 box steel so that it will fit properly and be alot stronger.

I'll be sure to do that, thanks man

got a nice little package tonight from ORD to be honest i think this is the first box of new parts ive gotten for this thing in over a year... contained these guys

even for something so small they still sent instructions and was packaged great.
this is what the zero rate looks like when having it set for a 1.5" stretch before being added to the spring pack

i used to a c-clamp to hold the spring pack together and simply cut the old centering pin, bolted zero rate into the pack and done easy as that.

just waiting on some u-bolt plates from ruffstuff and the rear axle will be done for now
here is the shackle angle right now. not the greatest but im prettey sure once the gas tank is reinstalled, and the weight of the body is set back down on the frame when i finish the tail pan, that it will settle and be around the proper angle.

finished up the night by painting the 60 knuckles. i am going to be using the copper color pictured here for accenting different pieces throughout the truck. its not this shiny when you see it in person
