Restored back to original rigs

Well, I've gotten my K5 completely finished on the exterior and it is back to original 1985 Silverado glory.:haha: Minus a billet grille though....:thumb:

I just ordered a ton of interior parts for my K30, I'm going to keep it saddle tan and install new carpet, door panels, fix the door straps, and new weather stripping.

Basically all the interior pieces are here for my K5, the last order from Classic Parts is on a UPS truck now. Only thing left are seats to choose, which won't be original though.

How do you feel about those door panels? I hate mine I got about 10 years ago from LMC. Are you gonna cut that new bezel for a cd player? Or put the knobs back in? :waytogo:

Mine is in no way new to the forum, but no pics in this thread. Only mods are an Alpine head unit, & an amp with 2 subs behind the back seat. Aluminium deep transmission pan, blazer style rear bumper, & an ORD steering box barace. I still have the factory head unit. I also swapped in a '91 4 spoke steering wheel, I still have the factory 2 spoke.

It is a 1991 V-3500 Silverado. TBI 454, 4L80e & a NP 205.

That one looks like a winner there.:thumb: Clean rig, must of been re painted or garaged.

Yes, I guess I should have said, it is not restored. It is a survivor. It was re-painted by GM on the re-call in the mid 90's. It has been garaged almost all of it's life. It needs paint now. The clear is coming off the hood, roof & the tops of the bed & fenders.

What a great thread!

When I was 16 I had an '84 I purchased with 8" of lift and 35's. 305, 10bolts, 208, and 700r4. That truck was jokingly named "reliable". I mean, I have my nostalgia for it, but I didn't not know nearly enough when I bought that truck. Had some awesome times offroading it though, and it was tough as nails, except for when the tranny would lock up. Then I'd just park it and come out a few days later and it would drive. I remember trying to fix a Tcase leak w JB weld. Did my first cam and head swap, and learned how to do all the basic SBC stuff on that rig.

I'm 27 now and after owning 3 Jeeps and a 1990 W126 Mercedes, I went back to old GM w my one owner '91 I bought in Navasota, TX.

I use this truck as a DD, so the only thing I have done is added 1" zero rates and a new set of BFG 31s. Oh, and we chunked the stock motor for a carbed ZZ4. I've spent the rest of my time replacing worn interior bits and running through everything so it's back to it's original glory, and I'm nearly there save for a few tiny interior bits and hopefully a new OE dash.

I plan on replacing my slushbox with one of the built stage 2 raptors. Everything else is staying the same. Maybe paint somewhere down the line, but I like that slight worn element my truck has. It's a DD sleeper Blazer that I don't off road. Probably never will either. I'm gonna snap pics after work and add them to this post.

You do know you have a reflection of the American Flag in the side glass. Was that planned? Very cool.

Wow, I didn't even notice that. That is on my lawn right in front of my flagpole, so that makes sense. That looks really sweet right there... Hmmmm...:thinking::thinking:

Do either one of you guys have bedliner on the top? I've been thinking about doing that and just from this point of view it looks like you guys might have something else on there than just plain paint.

I'm pretty sure its just the original coating from the factory on mine. However, I remember somebody doing the bedliner on the top.... Can't recall who though

There is spray-on bedliner on my top. I think the name is Raptor but I have to confirm that. So far it has held up great. It is a real nice glossy smooth finish, not like most truck bedliners. The interior is done with the same stuff.

We must see more pics without trees in the way.:waytogo:

Thanks for the thumbs-up! Those are the only pics I have unfortunately at this point. Now the truck is covered in snow and dirt... and salt! :doah: I really have to get it in for a good cleaning soon. I'll try to get some pics soon. Maybe wheeling in the snow a bit. if time permits.

Swettyblazer, your truck looks great! almost the same as mine.. makes me think of putting the trim back on.
