ReTonkulous

Utlilmaster P30
Already make noise. Just going to make more. And I will make block off plates just in case these fail to close. They actually look well made. And the tubing is stainless.

Fugly Duckling has a “Mini Me” close to my AO.

Cool project, hope you have a blast with your son.
Showed that to Eileen. "That's cool. Would look neat on the Tonka. And you could use it to drive around at the car shows."

I don't see a for sale sign on it. And it is on jack stands, so "I am going to restore it someday" has been spoken.

I’m afraid you’re right. Judging by the rest of the lawn ornaments it also ran when parked and he knows what he has.

But it would be cool, so I’ll stop by with a pic of your truck and ask if he’d consider selling and if he’d like to share contact info. in which case I’ll PM it to you.

No harm in asking.

Very much this.

Printed the first pic in your thread and knocked on the door. The old timer that came out took a good look at the picture, then at his Cushman and handed the picture back and said “nice truck, but not for sale” and walked back inside.

Probably didn’t want to break up the set, lol.

Never know if you don’t ask.
Cool of you for doing that!

I called it. Thanks for risking the ask. Here you might have been met with a shotgun.

Yep, you did. My pleasure, was hoping to help. Similar here with thundersticks, one of the reasons I printed a big picture vs relying on cell phone to back up my story lol.

I am hoping they will fit in the existing bezel. Only difference is electronic speedo and a tach. I'm not drag racing, so a massive tach is useless.

One trick I mention when using the speed sensor for the electronic speedo. I use a drill and make a twisted pair with the speed sensor wires that run to the back of the speedo. It helps prevent "glitches" in the speedo signal where the needle can occasionally jump around.

Do it before you run them, it will make them shorter. You can just have a pair of wires, put the one end under a brick or in a vice, and then chuck the other end in a drill chuck, and twist them up. You'll get the feel, enough they want to stay like that, but if you start getting kinks and overloops you went way too far.

Then you can cut to length and solder the connections.
