Finally had some time to tinker. Hopefully more time this week.

Both tail lights recessed correctly and replaced the reverse lights @ashman , that don't work. Waiting to swap the 4l80e 8n to fix

Then I go to replace 2 marker lights and this is what I find. 3 crimp connectors in 8 inches of wire.

The farther in I go, the worse it gets. Why are the tail light feeds, tan wire, grounded?

Sadly all the body companies that built step vans were pretty poor on the quality wiring department. Morgan, utilimaster, UCBC, didn’t matter. Add fleet repair shops and private owners making it worse.

So very true, most electrical problems on new delivered step vans 80% turned out to be a poor crimp on a connector. Sucked finding it easy fix once found.
