I am using the PRP Roadster suspension seats that i pulled out of the Jimmy 15 years ago. Almost sold them once. I am glad I did not.

They had too much recline in them for what I am doing now. No matter what, they hit the back window. And I would have to drive holding myself forward. So I stripped the frames, cut them, slugged and welded them back together a little more vertical.PXL_20220529_222449965.jpg

The before and after picture really drive home the point

I do not get things done as fast as I used to. If I did not have the CNC table, I would be screwed.

Paint is drying on the seat bases. That took all day. The right side is fully custom from the back wall to the floor.

Also pressure washed the seat covers. hey were bad with 15 years of shop dust on them.

I am confused.

The instructions from the company says to not run the engine while charging. Do not shake or invert freon can during charging. This is new to me. I have a call in to them now.

He just called back. They wrote the directions for the lowest common denominator of the human race. They have had people charge the clutch with nothing in the system and burn the pumps out.

Continue on as normal.

Was just plugging along today making progress, slowly. Had to move the Jimmy, the Cady and a food truck so I could back Fugly out to charge the AC finally. Drivers seat is in. I pulled the 4l80e and transfer case out of hiding. Stripped the wires out of the loom that are needed to run the transmission. Rewired the pigtail to go manual shift.

Finally backed Fugly out far enough to run it. Last week I did an evacuation on the AC system. Held -30" for 4 hours after I disconnected the pump. Would not hold today for 10 minutes. I am going through everything trying to figure out what changed. Check the gauge connections. Finally swapped out the connections on the nitrogen tank to pressurize the system.

System held pressure. Found the high pressure side gauge quick disconnect had to be dead straight or it leaked. 3 hours spent chasing nothing. Also found out the new r134a cans use a different adapter now. Stupid EPA.

It is making cool air. Will get it fully charged tomorrow after a do a bunch of paying work.

I am getting to old for this crap.

I had a guy teach me not to leave a system designed for pressure, under a vacuum for an extended period. He wouldn't leave vacuum in an A/C system for hours. Instead, he would break the vacuum with some freon or nitrogen.
I hope that you don't have any more hiccups with the system.

@ktmoutfront Hey I totally lost track of everything, do you know what day / time you'll be in Pensacola? 5 Flags Speedway, right?

You are assuming Fugly is going to make it that far.

That happened to me Wade, wouldn't hold a vacuum. Redid all orings charged with nitrogen soapy water spray.
40 yr old R12 snap on manifold gauge assembly, low side valve leaks. Don't beat yourself up to much.
