he stopped by today at my shop and when he left he had a lot of extra weight in the bed for a real SOFT ride the rest of the way home :whistle:

nice clean budget friendly built truck buddy :thumb:
 
It was great to see your projects Brett. It just takes an extra 300 horsepower in the back to smooth things out. The trucks riding like a caddy now :haha:

Yep, hopefully now I'm well stocked for years to come with these trucks. Also, if anything major turns out to be wrong with the blazer I'll be ready to go.

Oh, and most importantly, there are some extra pedals that were thrown into the deal!

We didn't leave Nate's in a timely enough fashion.... but we did get the honeymoon sweet at one of the finest motels along route 6.
 
There won't be a pedal change in the near future. I need this truck together and working for the next year.

I do also have a gm turbo setup sitting in my garage... There may be some sort of complete drivetrain build over the next couple years.

I'm really leaning towards an nv3500 because of the close ratios and having a true 5 speed. I need to really look at what they are capable of. I want to continue to be able to tow a car trailer well. Fire truck drives straight and true on the highway and can keep up with the speed limit. I definitely think it would easily cruise 75 unloaded with overdrive.

That is exactly the opposite of how I want my truck to ever run.

This interests me a lot. I'm contemplating a similar swap in my 6.2 Suburban, and I'm also leaning toward the NV3500. I already have an NV4500, but 200 miles of riding through the Rockies in Lawrence's DP burb (SM465) is changing my mind about wide gear splits. It's fine where I live, but it's not what I'd prefer for expeditions and road trips out West (intended purpose of truck). So I may wind up doing something else with that NV4500.


What gear ratios are you running?

but I would much rather the standard shift for cross country reliability. I really wonder about that trans going up some of the big hills in PA. I wouldn't feel comfortable at all driving this truck to Alaska or California with the auto. I don't necessarily see myself jumping in the truck tomorrow for this sort of adventure, but it is a definite possibility. Of course, I can always take my Blazer once it's back in, or should I say is in "tip top" shape.

Its ok. Its more fun to watch when Richard has to really try to get up the hills.
