If you are getting technical, it should be "tiring". Because we don't run on wheels. So, yes.

You could maybe run the pinion a hair shallower.

Needs to be deeper in the ring gear if you can. I have run worse for 100k miles with no issues.

That is the one.

Wish it was a Dana 60, but here we are.
Loving the work done. Wish I could do the same with my '77 but my roll cage is welded to the frame through the body interior. Bought this Blazer about a month ago
I would like to ask if you can post photos (if you have them) of your exhaust from engine to tailpipe. I am having issues determining what to do with my exhaust. Currently my exhaust terminates immediately after my Mufflers underneath the vehicle near the midpoint. It is my intention to install a new exhaust that will run from the engine out the traditional exits after the rear tires. There are few if any kits available and I will probably have to be frankensteining exhaust system from early Chevy truck Kits and various universal straights and Bends. also, would you happen to have any original documentation on your Blazer. Pennsylvania is giving me fits while I try to get it inspected and make it roadworthy. I have a post in the general forum regarding the original equipment in missions on the 1977 Blazer with the 400 engine. I have the original repair manual and the emission schematic doesn't even show an EGR valve. It is my argument to my particular Blazer never had a catalytic converter or an EGR. I'm trying to find somebody with a similar VIN number that also has documentation from the factory.
My blazer currently has a bored over 454 engine (468ci) with rusty headers and a leaky exhaust system. I need to get new headers along with the new exhaust system.
Any helpful response is greatly appreciated.
Before I tore it apart, my Blazer was emissions tested and registered with no issues here in Phoenix, AZ. My truck also originally came with a small block 400 and no emissions equipment. Here in AZ, they check the exhaust emissions on a roller, and also do a visual inspection. Each time they would get a bit confused about there not being catalytic converters or an EGR valve, but they were always able to determine that the vehicle never came from the factory equipped with these things. I think this is based on the GVWR (6000+).
In any case, I was running long tube headers with dual pipes all the way back. Again, no cats. No crossover either. Here's everything after I yanked it. minus the long tubes:
