tomorrow I'll do one more small one in the back, and do final trim/prep of the outer... I forgot to get seam sealer, need that before I close it up....

but I did get a bunch of primer, paint catalyst, etc.. every time I walk out of there it's 200 to 300 sheckles.... need to check into some Furd red/argent too...

next weekend I'll burn in the outer... following weekend, I'll bodywork and prime it...

9 wks on the USA1 door panels now..

sad thing is looking at the pile of deadener, handles, weatherstrip waiting to go in em when they get here...

reminds me, I need to see about putting the outer handles/locks in black...

Ryoken's world... :pimp: bottom of my staircase/front door....

random adjustable that doesn't belong there... bbq lighter, that does...

bottom to top... house/work keys... Blackie... Mutt.. Furd... color coded for the senile... extras for said rigs...

Kai walking weather apparatus...

USA... :saweet:

man, I need a new blind and a paint job.... :haha:

Eh.. all a house has to do is keep you warm n dry. Spend all the time and money on trucks or shop stuff :waytogo:

well, I'm a loser renter, sooooooo, there's that.... ;) I've actually rented this house for 25 yrs... I do occasionally paint, fix what breaks... but it needs a kitchen floor bad....

it's amazing how much I've done outside tho.. put a driveway in, fenced in yard, nice planter area.... if I owned, I have some cool ideas for the place.. but it's too late for that avenue...

I decided today while trimming the main patch, to add 2 access holes in the inner for 1" body plugs.. like the one at the front and rear...

I waited 11 weeks on mine and that was pre covid !

Very nice parts, just very sloooow to deliver.

yeah, I'm trying to be patient... honestly, I have sooooooo much on my plate, just getting to the door project will be a chore.... as long as they are done by mid oct, I'll be happy...

only getting the inner stuff primed/painted today, see about starting to burn in the rocker over tomorrow and mon....

got a few hrs in today.. got the 2 additional holes/plugs in for the cavity wax... so this is all in fake zinc, 2K and leftover black from the rad support deal....

the finished patch has the same treatment on the inside...

sat I'll grind all the welds out, and finish the cab corner..... following week, any bodywork, prime/paint....

stoopid taiwan cr@p, even that bottom lip is uneven if you look close .. the center is like 7/8".. the ends are a fat inch... need to grind that flat next week... other than that, my patience paid off and for a patch with 6' of running weld, it came out on point....

Looks damn good!

should have it in paint next week....

so, the car show is a month away.. I figure 2 good weekends to have the rig ready.... paint the rocker, than a "polish the turd" weekend.. maybe sneaking in a door day, but I don't have much faith in USA1....

than I take a break before getting back to the tank tray, while I get the Furd roadworthy... probably a month...

Damn that looks clean. I've been trying to up my sheet metal game lately. It doesn't come out like that just yet...

thanks.... :)

I actually have to go back in and trim up the bottom lip a bit more, it's still not quite level.... about an 1/8" in front and back...

but other than that, I'm VERY pleased with how it came out considering how off the Taiwan stuff is.. my kingdom for a brake... :doah: minimal mud and the buttwelds went well, just had to go back and touch up 2 spots with the MIG after grinding... but it took me a day to fit it up, and 5 hrs to weld it in...

i gave the 4 1" access holes the good "jet stream douche" with primer today till it was dripping out nearby orifices.. ;).. they'll get the same with paint..... than plugged up till i get around to cavity wax..

it'll outlive me...... :doah:  :haha:

Nason 2k Urethane Buff primer..I remember it well :D

it does well, fills and sands nice... i usually get away with very little glazing putty by throwing a couple extra coats over mud areas...

so, some build babble and realizations......

going into this winter, I'm confirming there is nooooooo way the Cummins is going in jan/feb, or next spring.... money-wise..... it'll have to be next yr...

so I need to start working on the parts pile now that the Furd detour is out of the way... other than a pair of tires... and that's fine, I expected it... but I still need a project list for the off-season..

# 1 - fuel tank by spring time... :deal:

# 2 - ummmm, not sure.. oh, lower door panels, if USA1 actually comes thru... cool, that'll be a 100 hr, cheap gig.... :haha: :pimp:

it's gonna be hard to not "take it off the road" for the big swap if Blackie, and especially the Furd, are proving reliable DD'ers...... while I do drive Mutt in long binges (drove it from mar till jun/july), but Blackie gets a lot of the drive time too, and all the long runs.. pushing 20 mpg compared to like 6... :doah: :haha: hopefully the Furd will be around 20....

I'd love to be installing a x-member, fuse block, Vintage, next summer in prep for the 12v...... gonna need all of next jan/feb/mar for small details like exhaust, shafts, etc....
