Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

I don't even think I can count the number of blazers or pickups or burbs I have seen without proper steering correction.

Have driven quite a few. They have some odd things going on but for the most part you probably won't kill a busload of nuns and orphans.

With as little as you plan on driving it for that week go for it

cool.. yeah, not ideal, but I could fudge it by for a week if need be...

I'm still gonna try to do it in a long weekend if I can...... looking like the 3rd weekend in july.... so it looks like my tube order, work, begin's on the tubebed in aug... hopefully that wont take FOREVER..... :doah: but I'm sure it'll be 3 x's as long as I think....

ah yes the tried and true 3x system. :haha::haha::haha::haha:

Looking forward to the tube bed build just wanna see what you have in mind really.

Been running a 4" with just a raised steering arm since the previous owners. My truck is very streetable too. Ideal, maybe not but does it work without scary results, yes.

I know it's not as utilitarian a design as you've said you like.. but hopefully you'll dig it for what it tries to accomplish.. no, I wont be able to put 2 pallets of pavers on it, but that's not it's goal...

I'm VERY anxious to play with the bender again.... :haha:

Just to add to what others have said, i have driven a truck with 4" lift and no steering correction at all and it drove fine. You can definitely get away with it as long as your not wheeling.

Little bit of bump steer is all I had till I corrected mine

that's what i figured with getting so non-parallel to the springs...

no big, and like I said... with a good plan and the kindness of the build gods, I can hopefully do all of it in 3 days anyway...

Like others have said, and sounds like your on board already- gooseneck :waytogo:

On my first K5 back in high school, I did a 4" lift, I was so broke I could only afford the "basic" kit, no steering correction, rear blocks etc. It didn't turn great, especially off road, but was by no means unsafe, heck I was 16 and lived through it for 3 months or so before I put a raised arm on it :D

Also, don't know if it would help or if your interested, but, my K30 had a goose on it, wasn't a nice turn over setup or anything, not sure of the brand either. I was most likely going to scrap it, if you want it it's yours, I can get a pic tomorrow if you'd like.

You talkin to me? ( in my best Joisy accent) :D:D

Yes I like simple and clean but lines are important to me too.

I am betting I will like most of what you do :D:D

This is a hitch that a friend had - seemed to really like it.

Another friend has one of the turnover ones that you pull out and can put back in upside down - but I don't like it as well.

don't think I want/need a folding one, due to tube bed... I'll have to ask Kert if he could make up a duplicate of his... I like how his is boxed, and not just a top plate.. it looks like it's 2 pieces that bolt on the bottom, and over thru the frame side... I'd love to see pics of the bottom, installed...

just a few different shots from the yard...

nah, I just think it'd look bada$$!!!!! :haha:

actually, I'm pretty certain I'll end up dragging some boats around here and there with the rig once it's got the tubebed on it, so it could be handy I suppose... :pimp:

What's with that hood primer...you trying to copycat me or something? :haha:

sheesh...can't be original with anything anymore....

You gotta do something for me....before you get rid of the current doors, you gotta paint Quint's shark on it and take a picture:
