Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

Are you going to RG and 2K those for now when your done. Or are we going to see color too? No wait don't tell we like surprises.

Yes, it can and has been. Mikeyd05 got the second one. Been a couple more since then. Not the biggest demand but from time to time....

sweet.... I'll want one in aug or sept.... :deal:

expect a call from me on july 16 for a regular 4" flip for a 1 ton for this... I'm gonna hold off on the inboarding for now... I've already got a 6" x-tied shackle from you, for it... oh, I'll need a bushing for that too...

eh, couldn't afford paint this week, had some bills to catch up on.... I'm gonna pick up a gal on the 16th.. so for now, just a strip, rg and 2k.. than I'll trim em out in a few weeks and get em on... I'll probably do some jamb work at that point and get the cowl vent and ds fender ready too... I'll finish off with the back doors/rest of jambs... and the roof/back after that, on the next go rounds....

but I did stop by my paint guy (for the stripper) and he scanned in the red/orange for a custom formula.... so, it's ready to be made..... Nason single stage at about $275 for a gallon kit..

oh, and it's now in his computer as Ryoken Red...... :haha:

unfortunately I'm just off for the 4th.. couple big jobs pending at work...

I'm gonna be taking some long weekends later in the month and in aug tho..

:haha:

maybe I can get my own Dupont color like Stacey David!! :woot: :doah: :haha:

also got my front bumper properly bolted up and aligned today...

:haha:

I do like Cat motor's.. I've always found them to be pretty beefy in their marine variations....

eh, I'll stick with the rat... :pimp:

If you could stuff a C18 under the hood that'd be awesome!

PS you ever get to work on any 3500 series CATs? Way bad ass

All our cat haul trucks are 3500 series. We got 3508, 3512, and 3524.

Honestly, not all that impressive. Now the C175 that's replaced the 24. That's an impressive unit.

yeah, we see the 8's, and on a rare occasion a 12.. I don't see a ton of that stuff these days, as I don't work on as many bigger boats as I used to..

yeah, sorry, just kinda driving it right now... big psycho jobs at work and all this heat have me taking a bit of a break after pounding some big hr's on Mutt since I got her....

but I'll be doing the lift in about 3 weeks.. than it'll be on to the tube bed..

believe me, the K5 thread gets like that..... a million hr's of grinding, etc, just to give you guys a decent update!! ;)

little different with this one being the DD'er... but I think you guys know me, a couple months and Mutt will evolve even more...

the truck is very good right now... much smoother, running reasonable... pretty reliable.. I'm just "beat the f*ck up" right now.... some 3 day weekends should help with that...

but I want to go x-over soon.. the push/pull is tired and I don't want to put any money in it..

I'm actually just gonna go hi-steer with the rig.. really don't have a purpose for it on this rig.. but I have the parts, as opposed to buying new stock TRE's, etc, I'll just do the high steer since it's free......

next week i'll get an order in with Kert and ORD... I'm really chomping at the bit to get a tube order in.. but I need to get a semi-decent suspension under it... mainly cuz the shocks are just about useless...
