Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

nah, we're ethanol.. pretty sure the entire state of joysey is ethanol.. been that way for awhile now..

it's good valvtect stuff and I get it at cost, so..

I would keep that kind of quiet, that is illegal.

Martin

also, that would only be illegal for dizzle, filling Mutt with gas is not..

Interesting. All the marinas in MI are still ethanol free. They make a big push to say that as well.

Is there a such thing as no road tax gasoline? It seem stupid there isnt. Lots of guys have gas equipment...

I dont' think there is.

But, Ive read on boating sites that if you keep all your boat gas receipts, and provide documentation of the hrs on your boat over a season, some states will let you send it in and get a rebate.

Didn't seem worth the hassle for me.

joyseys been on ethanol since we've had the marina, which is 6+ yr's now... pretty sure it's been a tri-state area thing... I've been surprised to hear how much reg gas is available in other states still...

I pass by 2 stations in VA somewhat near my house that has no ethanol. Theres actually a database on the net somewhere. I dont think its that common.

There is one gas station here in North Central TN that has Reg Unleaded sans ethanol. Its a bit more expensive than Unleaded with Ethanol. I fill up the K5 with the good stuff about once a month. Boy, does the K5 love the Reg Unleaded!!! You can smell the difference in the exhaust also.

http://pure-gas.org/ lists all the stations with E0. It is typically about the same price as 93 around here.
I get 2-3mpg more with E0 it is worth the extra cost especially when gas prices is high

yes, the dizzle is dyed..

I don't know what road tax is added to fuel costs.. that's not my gig, I fix boats, I don't pump gas..

all I know is when I fill the truck and pay cost, I pay a bit less than your standard gas station down the street.. which I guess is about right, I don't think gas stations make a huge margin per gal, maybe a dime or something..

but marine fuel is always more expensive than gas at the corner, never cheaper... boaters aren't getting "a deal" cuz it's on the water or something.. if the local station is getting $3.50 a gal, marina's are generally like $4... we mark our's up like .60 over what we pay..

just checked, yes, our dyed dizzle is the same as other dyed ag, etc, tax free..

that brings another one up to me... has anyone here ever had a non-commercial vehicle dipped?

I asked my boss who's been driving a dizzle furd rig 20 yr's, nope..

I can see commercial rigs getting checked here and there at weigh stations or something, but I wonder about personally reg'd vehicles... :dunno:

is it even legal for them to do that?

oh, and missed the gas part Martin, yes, we pay road tax on gas, just like a regular station...

In Jersey they might not dip, but in Nebraska they do, and it is a huge fine.

That blows my mind that you guys are paying road tax on marine gasoline.

Martin

wow, 1 station in joysey.. and it's 110 Sunoco race fuel..

Yeah that's the station on 88 down the street from me.

I mean if you're worried about being dipped you could put a cheesy locking gas cap on it and tell them to produce a warrant to search your locked container or pound sand.
