Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

I do have a couple 2 lb'er's kicking around somewhere from burning stuff out in the yard at the marina... :haha:

not worth the hassle, got some holesawing and bandsaw work the rest of the day to keep me busy.. than i'll hit the boys up for mullah tomorrow..

alrighty, bossman's gonna give me 50 in the morn so i'll be home burning by brunch...

If you're that broke, shouldn't you be using that money for some other essentials like food?

fock food, I got a rig to build!!!!! :pimp: :woot: :haha:

nah, I'm good, bills are all paid till feb, got a couple weeks of food, full tank of gas, etc.. I just left myself broke after loading the fridge up and this was unexpected after buying all kinds of stuff to keep busy thru my layoff... I get my first check weds or thurs, so I'll be back up and running than..

yeah, not as financially set up as last winter due to the big wedding expenses check I sent my daughter at x-mas, but I'll be ok...

actually if I can start getting a couple days a week in down at the boat factory starting next week, I'll be in real nice shape come june/july..

started cutting the bit's and pieces to get the latches on the gate.. hopefully everything should be clicking, pun intended, by sometime sunday and in primer..

How about using a latch design based on a garage door, two bars running out to the side from a centrally rotating handle?

I thought about that.. actually that was the initial thought when I contemplated a central handle deal...

heck, you could just get a garage door setup and shorten it..

but when you think of the practicality of it, it's not NEARLY as efficient as what I'm gonna do.. you'd have to push the gate up, hold it, than latch it in place.. not to mention the front to back potential movement from a setup like that could cause rattles if not set just right..

obviously a factory pickup gate has much of that taken into account with rotational latches, etc, but, my setup, slam it up, spring latches click, done deal, is pretty close IMO...

awwwwwwwwwwww, isn't it the cutest wittle tube perch you ever saw????

for the CK5 record... took me about 4 hr's to make 2 of those.. and I still need to weld the nuts on the inside... 5 individual pieces each...

the things I do......................... :doah: :haha:

thanks boys.... was hoping to save a tad bit of work and cut down some 2" x 4" slider schtuff I had kicking around to do 3 of the sides, but alas, it was too narrow..

this makes rounding edges easy peezy...

tho, as Stomis can attest to, the belt on it is pathetically destroyed/worn.. heck, I had to tear it down to half width to run it.. :haha:

I ordered new ones from eghey like 3 weeks ago, and apparently the USPS machines ate them em up cuz they are in limbo in Ohio for 10 days now.. I b*tched at the vendor like 5 days ago.. we'll see.. I REALLY could have used those fresh 24 gritter's today...

my argon guy gave me a smoking deal on some 7" 16 grit fiber discs today... buck a piece.. so I stocked up with 10...

O I got to using those disks the other day on the frame. I love them and the whole setup went right on my grinder no problemo. Ive gotta get my 24grit belt on my bench grinder and see how the roark belt works. So far so good with all their stuff though :waytogo:

What you using for a square hole? Do you have a broach?

are you running them on a 4 1/2" high rpm grinder?

and fock no on the squares.. it'll be a drill, dainty work with a thin carbide burr, than a flat file for ions to get the corners..

it'll be ghey and time consuming as he!!... :doah: :haha:

Yeah I've got them on my 5in grinder. Seems to work fine. Is high rpm bad for them somehow?
