Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

Man in that last page.. You just gained about 10 steps on the totem of respect on my end. The fact you can admit your faults, live with them be happy with yourself and share it with us says a lot about your character. We already know what kind of mechanic you are (insert sarcasm) but it seems like life's taught you some lessons, I'm sure I could learn a lot.. What kind of beer do you drink again?
Good on you buddy good on you.. Ps I'm jealous of the cupcakes and hookers.. Sounds like a combination to die for \_/ ======D ---:)

I think this is what I wanted to say, but didn't know how to type it out. :doah:

So I'm tired and I have an awful headache but all that keeps running through my brain is wedding cupcake hookers.

Also pretty aluminum. Which in my slightly off state I mispelled and it auto corrected to pretty slum I'm in?.

Maybe there is something to this hooker cupcake wedding

I inspire to have my build look like the craftsmanship you and Greg do. I truly envy the level of work you guys can create pieces out of nothing. I hope one day I can do the same. :thumb:

thanks mang.... :D good to see all the blood, broken tools and blown paychecks over the years are providing some entertainment.....

welding up the other side now..... still gotta final shape/size those 2 pieces.. as the whole doghouse is based off of those 6 mounting points...

i'll do that tonight...

tomorrow I'll start tacking in the other pieces.. the piece on top will actually sit down in on, and mount to, a 1" wide strip of alum around the perimeter, a frame.....

you bastiges!!!!???!!!!!!

now I gotta buy another $ 100 peso gas door! as the dual fill is just gonna be EPICLY neat!!!

:waytogo: :woot: :bow: :D:popcorn::saweet:

worked it out today, gonna be slick.... door centered on each side at the top... both hoses headed toward middle, light bend/shift to the 2 different sides.. fills at the 2 opposite corners.. run some killer type 2 fill hoses, double good clamp each... gonna have em put a couple tabs on the top of the tank for heavy zip ties to keep the hose from moving at all as they bend/shift to the side and around the center of panel, pickup plate.....

it'll have a stand alone,"no moving parts" level sender..

flush mount, round gasket pickup assembly, feed, return evap... i'll run a full alum pickup down to a stock TPI pump setup... (on an aside, my Walbro seems to be a bit louder these days.. still put's out "ok" but I definitely think it's on it's way out..)

got a couple stock used TBI pumps as spares.. but think I'll pick up a new Ac Delco unit to have ready for the newer tank... if not sooner due to nun's shooting out of the old one....

tomorrow AM, I start adding panels... the vertical back and the big front, oh wait, swap that...... :haha: I'll be happy to have the main panels and frame shaped/fitted , tacked together.... start welding it up during the week...

probably just run smaller black ss countersinks like the main ones... but just tap the 1/4" alum lip/frame.... make a gasket for it.... than once it's done, I 'll take the same black silicone that is gonna be at all the al panel edges with the tube, and pump the edge of the panel gap on top of the doghouse and finger it flat.... that way the gasket is really the main leak fighter as easy opening, but the vertical being filled keeps water and grime from building up... just a quick razor knife cut, screws, your in...

need $300 in fill stuff next I suppose.. I'm gonna take it down to him with all that built, even the hoses, so he knows EXACTLY what I want... pretty cool old guy owns it, so hopefully he's stoked to build it...

more stuffs tomorrow....

ok, next suggestion mission... start accessorizing my rig.... doing the Cree lights up top... want a couple extinguishers mounted, but I'm pretty certain I'm gonna mount those to C tubes...

trying to decide if mounting something to that main sloping panel would be cool... extinguisher wouldn't, not an easy access point....

hmmmmmm, maybe put the mallard door logo there....

maybe a hi-lift mounted to the ps angle tube... reserve the ds for a boom crane down the dinero brick road.....

hmmmm, gonna go look around at extinguisher mounts tonight....

I think I like the idea of putting the logo on the doghouse too...

thinking a left and right DIY4X extinguisher mount on the vertical C's...

what are really nice extinguishers? where's that madman Shawn when I need him!!:dunno: :haha:

with a boom crane, it'd be a slick rig to haul 100 g race boat motors around on......

6 million dollars later... The bionic mallard...:haha:

now that you said that... :haha:

I figure at the end of the tubebed build, winch value, all the lights, dual bat setup with fancy toys, metal, boxes, etc,

I'll have about 9 to 10 g's in it all told.... that's pretty pessimistic too, even with expensive electrical components....

and probably in the neighborhood of 750, 800 hr's labor....

:doah: :pimp: :haha:

eh, alum headed mountain mill stuff... like 550, 600 I'd guess....

most difficult part is making the pivot point stupid strong...
