Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

Yup I hardly ever comment but I read new posts multiple times a day and love the work you do.

Keep the updates coming even if they're small.

I don't comment much, mostly because I haven't got anything useful to add, but I greatly enjoy following your builds. But I can understand, updating a thread can be a time consumer.

Never fear Im always readin :waytogo:

thanks boys, much appreciated! :D

Yea wtf don't b!tch out now! I'm married and broke building a k5 someone has to keep this site from going stagnant.. Or it's gonna turn into, Friday and sat night posts only.. Every two weeks and hoping were not all on the same pay cycle so we have something to look at.
I feel ya on the pic taking unless it a picture worthy shot, then it's fair game.

Whatever you do, don't let the Forum go stagnant...they die and then turn into FaceBook...

I haven't been able to get to anything new to post due to a massive IT project at work and also the heat wave...I just can't take it like I could even 5 years ago.

Works been killing me though...got 82 hours in the last 5 days...

let me kind of try to reclassify that somewhat... it's not the comp updates that are hard.. sure, ya get busy and don't take too many "process" shots... but it's easy to come in here at the end of the night and post a few pics and a short description.. it's more the trickle affect of a 15 to 20 hr's worth of work over a weekend, being 1/5 of a project...

it seems to me, that I work all weekend, get some tubes done, or get a few alum panels done, whatever, and it just kinda glazes by this forum.. sometimes I think I'd be better off, waiting the 3, or 4 weeks till that particular project is done.. than post it... seems like it might get better response.. nothing, BOOM, finished project...

the trickle approach seems to lull people into not appreciating the end result.. :dunno:

the gas fills/doghouse are a perfect example.... I think if I posted pics at the end, everyone would have dug it more... instead the last post of the finished fills, got 0 replies... I busted my arse on that whole project and thought it turned out pretty bad arse from the design, to the parts, to the execution...

Don't look at the replies look at the views.

ahhhh, I forget that.. :doah:

your one of them there smart type people! :haha:

it was just something that crosses my headflesh at times as to how I can better present my efforts... I'l continue to post my updates and try to entratrain folks as best I can... :doah:

:doah:

I read all your updates.. I just don't have anything to contribute to the whole go fast deal... :doah:

ps.. you need better lighting for your pics.... ;)

don't get me wrong.. I'll build my rig with a build thread or not, been doing it for 35 yr's now... and any positive response is awesome, never had anything like that for my past builds, pre-web... just want the work to be shown in it's best possible light... pun unintended.. ;)

I think you are underestimating the number of loyal readers who don't post that much.

I don't have much to add, and try to avoid the repeated "this looks awesome" posts.

But, "this looks awesome". Very impressed by all your updates, and really enjoy even the short ones.

keep it up!

i vary rarely post anything ,i dont have near the abilty to see something in my head and then make it a reality as you do ,i check this thread almost everyday just to see the progress the build is amazing, just from the fab standpoint, keep the updates comeing .if i have to comment on it i will but i
dont know that i will have anything usefull to say,and if your not carefull that will put me over 30 posts for my 8 years on here we dont want to rush this and turn me into a post whore

That is a great point. I probably check this thread 100 times for every 1 time I post. I dig most of what you do, even the music :D, I just rarely have much to add.

If it's been awhile I do try to say "nice job" or something now and then on whatever builds I like, but many times I feel like I'm just thread padding doing that. I'd bet a lot of guys feel that way. Check the view count, your stuff gets more views than anyone. That says plenty. :thumb:

Thanks I never thought of that! Funny because I am almost always working in the dark after the kids asleep and only have my phone. Maybes I'll break out the Nikon for the big boy suspension install.

the only reason I notice that kinda thing is I look back at my pics when the LAB™ was known as the DUNGEON™, and notice how dark the pics where in those days..... :doah:

hopefully sunday will bring a finished underbox update...

Can't believe that for once I'm agreeing with KG.... :haha:

Yes....it's all about the views.:waytogo:

You can actually get a pretty good sense of things by keeping track of the views. There were times in my build where something pretty important happened and I posted it up with photos. Within a 24 hour period, I had 1,000 new views!!! :eek1: That's about the best I've ever done.... But it validates that even with only a handful of new replies (or less) people were coming back to look at the update (and the pretty pitchers!) more than once.

There are times when I feel like there will be a real "breakout topic" and lots of people will chime in with replies.....then nothing happens. Who knows why... Bad timing, or whatever? Sometimes people just feel guilty posting up "cool update" or "awesome man" and don't want to just sound like a nut-swinger for giving Prouds for everything you share (even when it really IS awesome!). :D

I'll admit, on the aluminum work you're doing I just don't have any direct experience / context to even understand how much effort it is... And I'll bet that's how it is for a lot of guys too. Until you have tried it yourself, you just don't know how time consuming it is.....and don't appreciate the work that went into the photos of the end-result.

Watch the views.... I'll betcha you're getting at least 5000 a week. I know I'm good for at least 20/week of those by myself!:bow::bow:

And for the record: "Looks cool man!"

Nothing to add that hasn't been touched on yet by others. I regularly try to check this post and a few others on regular basis. My email notifications have been acting funky lately so I get behind occasionally.

For me I feel like if I was to respond every time you update with "looks good" or "great job" that it kind of loses its value after the first number of times.

Rest assured I think everything you do is awesome and you do a great job on it all. I've been a regular watcher of you're threads since I first joined. [emoji106]

I read everything you post man. Your fab skills and just ability to knock **** out is epic.

That said, as others have said, I try to keep my pointless posts to a minimum so as to not clog up your thread.

thanks fellas.... I was just thinking that the minor updates that Greg or I might do, kinda takes away from the "wow" factor of the more occasional, more complete updates that many do...

I really appreciate all the props and interest from everyone.... I may be an idjit sometimes, but it tells me I'm at least doing something right.... :haha:

I decided today to definitely do the step plans for in front of the box... so big thanks to cyclic for coming up with that one! :waytogo:

Good call. I think you're really going to appreciate having something there after you fill up a few times.

I like orange, and heavy metal. That's why I tune into this channel. My fab/built/smarts level is no where near yours, so I tend to shut up and watch. If it involves crayons, and eating glue I'm in...

Keep up the saweet a$$ work:waytogo:
