the main upper front alum piece is drilled/countersunk and boltable.... during the week, I'll start doing the "box in" at the corner, around the expanded step... not only does it need to turn in 90, than 90 again, but it also needs a "ceiling" to it too...

but I should have this, and the extinguishers banged out by the end of next weekend...

this is the light bar I'm gonna run..

mang, sometimes I'm such a dimwitted moeron......

I somehow managed to friggin lose, the front shaft for Mutt! sheesh, it's a driveshaft, not like your keys or a piece of paper... been tearing the house apart for 2 days and it's nowhere to be found.. I have 3 OTHER driveshafts, but not that one... I pulled it back in like march and can't remember what I did with it.... doh.........

Check the freezer!

Probably someplace extra clever so you wouldn't lose it.... Up the the rafters, in a clothes closet, under a guest bed, in the tailgate area or rear seat area of your Blazer, in the pot storage area under the stove? :dunno:

Double check the 3 other driveshafts. I can't count how many times I looked directly at what I was looking for and moved on, assuming it was something else.

only one could conceivably be the one... and it's REALLY hammered, doesn't look like it's been in anything for years.. was pretty sure the one I pulled out, I had cleaned up and painted it the previous year when I installed it...... this thing is a ball of rust...

the old one wasn't gonna be usable as-is anyway, just wanted to see how short it was gonna be... going from 4" lift, to 6" and moving the 60 up 1.5" is gonna dictate some more length fo sure...

Wait...he has a designated, publicly-known pot storage location? :screwy:

I had a similar situation recently. I left my CUCV in storage for a couple years, and worked on it just a few times during that span. One thing I did was tear into the 14bff differential to do a gear swap. Axle shafts came in and out several times, but they were never properly reinstalled (just slid into place for storage purposes).

2 years later, I go to pick it up from storage, and one of the rear axle shafts is missing. Nobody knows where it might be, and nobody has seen it. It's not a small item, and I'm not sure how you lose one. But somehow I managed to do so. :eek1:

So there's my dimwitted moron story for today.
