Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

Looks great and congrats on the new pup. As for the carpal release I gotta get one done soon..hand just cramps up into a weird shape all on it's own...I think mine is a ulnar nerve. I think it's the right thing to do at the right time. Nerve damage can take a while to heal and we aren't getting any younger. I can feel the excitement of having a new pet...I just can't go there yet, but I sure miss the companionship and honestly the responsibility.

your dream! hehe, all my rig's be manual.. and I had the right hand done today... I took the black 2wd 91/4.3/5 spd.... it actually shifts worse than the 465.. cuz i didn't want to leave the circus exposed in that parking lot overnight, if I had to leave Mutt...

so yeah, I had to shift with that hand.... I managed, lot of left hand driving at lights and whatnot..

they just don't want you driving cuz of the anesthesia, by law I'm guessing... not suppose to drive for 24 hr's... I woke up fine, I guess after a 1/2 hr total, ready to do pushups, other than having a fubar'd hand... bit of post-surgery ache going on now as I bash keys..... I did actually buy Advil.. I usually don't keep it in the house.. thru out the bottles yr's ago..

I have my moments....

so a couple days off here, than pick up Kai sunday....

won't be much going on with Mutt other than driving... I may come in and write some build babble to just work thoughts out for the kennel floor/wall deal... I really don't know when that will start, honestly, it could be awhile.. it all depends on Kai... part of his early socializing will be in the LAB™.

it's as clean as it can get, and everything is up off the floor and isolated as best possible.. obviously there's big hunks of jagged metal all over, lathe, bandsaw, etc.... but I bought him a big dogbed for the one corner for some retreat, happy space for him... we'll play fetch and spend time down there too over the next couple months... tool noise will be the challenge, it'll be a process fo sure... it's another reason I'm doing the fence in the yard deal...

so.... at the beginning of this floor process, I want to modify my rear door stops to open further.... I've never played with sets like these.. only ones I ever fugged with where Mopars....

it looks pretty easy.. but I'm gonna have to in/out a couple times for fit..

i'll start by taking it off and driving the roll-pin out at the c-post side....... than I'll have to figure out changing or modding the length.. fit it to check opening and clearances...

I really need to do this prior to cutting the whole floor out.. at least do the one side..., to figure out EXACTLY how wide I can go reasonably for the dog ramp, with the front doors opening, etc...

.

Kai.. he's not an import. ;)

I don't know, it has popped in my head briefly... I'm not gonna say I wont mention what's going on in this, cuz of what I've said previously about build reasons, etc.. but I like to keep the thread a nice mix of 80/10/10... 80 Mutt/10 Ryoken-LAB™ BS/10 Malakai...

and like I said, don't be surprised to vid of the ramp in use by Kai, pics of him laying in the bed, hanging at the bar's, sitting up front... he'll be an integral part of pimpin the kennel build, and the build fab... testing feeder assemblies, etc... :ignore: maybe Kai's handsome looks will get Mutt in a mag!!!!!! :pimp1: :woot: :haha:

oh, btw..... the anesthesia doc this morn was trying to hire me for his boat... :haha: :pimp: :shame:

I think i'll be doing a "Puppy Build" on Kai in the Lounge tho, dedicated to @campfire just to be a first-time whack-0..... :screwy: or would it be other rides? outdoors? :haha:

a pic here and there in this novel...
