Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

I have that ones smaller brother in the front of the truck you'll like it! Nice thing about those magnum ones is they make a remote mounted control panel you could put in the cab of the truck if you wanted to.

yeah, it looks like most of the companies have the remote for some of their models.. not sure if i need that, but i do like gadgets.. ;)

working on the mounts over the next couple days.. got mom help tue/wed to do... decided to do the "ceiling" like the bellypan... 1/8" flush mount with the black button heads.. the button heads will help with wire retention, moreso than 1/4 with countersinks...

Could always mount up a engine driven welder/generator, if you just NEED more electrical power. Miller Big 40 Diesel should be compact enough, it's what's on my service trailer hahahaha.

Realistically though sounds like a 2500-3000 watt inverter should be plenty

keep in mind, i plan to not only run a york up front, but eventually a dedicated welding alt too... but the box is just screaming for an inverter.... :dunno: :haha: I think a 2000 or 2500 would be a tad overkill for some chargers and a 4 1/2" grinder.. and, I'm ok with that. ;)

My 2500 watt will slow down a bit with a 13amp Milwaukee grinder, so overkill isn't a bad thing!

Premier power welder/Zena welder, or going to make your own?

I've got just a little 850 inverter and it works for charging batts but can't handle a 4 1/2" grinder. Fails to get it up to speed (gets close, but trips the safety before it gets there).

all great info guys, thanks.... premier is the one i like... i wanna do a secondary belt with clutched air/welder... priority #48.......

Too much work, should be on a push button that moves the batteries for you hahaha.

cardio ;)

now comes the not so sexay, unseen stuff of 2 more ceiling panels... but they need to be done, and now's the time to do em before the weather gets toooo stoooopid...

here's how the brackets worked out...

you cannot install the whole tray with the box assembled thru the door... I have to have one bracket, and that sidewall off for R/R of the unit... but I think it was as simple and efficient a project as I could do...

still need to drill the other 2 mounting holes for the drawer on the side..

You just going to run some flexible welding cable from the batteries to the box or wherever so that it can move with the batteries going in and out?

I'll end up running tinned marine stuff.... better wire bundle, just a bit thicker jacket... still working out all my cable fastening hardware and such for the ceiling and tray... need to get into the marina this week and figure out what this is all gonna cost...

sheesh, i didn't realize these guys are that close to me until i saw i paid sales tax last night when i ordered my gasket set... like a 1/2 hr from me... starting to sprinkle in block cleanup/smoothing and getting the mill ready (so it can sit all pretty in the shop till i get a pile O' parts next to it ;) ).....

still need to get the tan paint, but I'm a ways off from that...

Those guys have great prices. I wish they could be half an hour away from me! I did order a programmer for my Duramax from them yeas ago.

still not worth my time for the $7 in shipping.... but in the future, for something heavier maybe, etc, it'll be worth the trip... I'll have to make a note of where they are when I'm over that way...

since I've got a bunch of time on my hands, I'll give it the 205 treatment....

You drive right past them on your way to Fazzios. If you go up R34.

A little thread sealer on the intake plate bolts isn't a bad idea.
