is 1/2" x 100' or 150' a good choice? brands????
One of (if not the) high end manufacturer for synthetic cable. https://www.samsonrope.com/crane
A common supplier with a good rep http://www.masterpull.com/superline-xd-synthetic-winch-line/
Another, they carry both Amsteel Blue (samsonrope) and their own Diamond Line https://customsplice.com/collections/ropes
Good synthetic is significantly stronger than the same sized steel cable, the next size down on synthetic is often the same strength as steel cable. IE 5/16 synthetic is rated for similar weights as 3/8 steel core, steel cable. The bottom end cheap synthetics from China have equal strength rating to the same size steel.
Which cable diameter is gonna depend on what weight your winch is rated for but assuming typical 9-12.5k winch 3/8" the designed size and the winch is usually designed for 80-100ft.
Being in the marine industry you might be able to get it cheaper from one of yalls suppliers. Samson rope started there.

i was thinking like $300 for 100' of sum 1/2" type schtuff... i know the winch is 3/8, but i figured if i kept the line short, i could snot it up some.
I'm gonna use black oxide fasteners to hold the black UHMV in place.. awesome... but the 2 at the ends of the track to secure it have to be "undercut" heads.. shallow.... can't get em in black, only passivated... I can see me touching em up in black, no doubt....
annoying, it's McBible for God's sake...
