Ryoken's 96 Furd twofiddy

Here's another source for some goodies. www.cpaddict.com they have door repair stuff and all kinds of cool things. FYI you will break an interior door handle at some point if they are still the factory style plastic ones. They do some cool billet ones but I just did the Doorman metal upgraded ones.

good link.. they got some stuff...... if i ever wanna fully thug out the front end....

one thing he did recently was the hinge bushings on the ds.... not before it bent the door/fender... just in the white area, so I'll fix that when I paint it argent...

basically I need to wetsand out the white with 600 at this point... I will paint the qrters, but not the tailgate... and I'll just be douching right over the wheelwell rust... than when I patch those, I'll do the tailgate, and repaint the qrters...

Oh, and I'm also considering painting the chrome wheelwell moldings the satin black and reinstalling them at some point...

Holy shit! Guess I should be happy with mine where it's usually in and out in less than 10 minutes and your lucky if you ever run into anyone else.

prior to Covid, Joysey actually had it down pretty good the last couple decades... it was all wait time today.. it literally took about 6 minutes once I got inside... you get a # at the door, they text you a couple times to tell you to come back when your # approaches...... i was #113.. got there at 9:15.... I was talking to people still trying to get stuff from april done, lol...

I'm intrigued by the wheelwell insulation engineering... tho it seems like it'll be a pain...

so, I'm gonna try to clean the rest of the engine compartment up some... gonna gunk the front of the motor to clean all the front main leak sludge... at least I'll verify it...

but most of the work will be in using my newly revamped blast cab to strip/paint all the brackets, bat trays, etc....

I'm also gonna see about stripping/blasting the front couple feet of the rails before reassembly begins..... more over the weekend as I start getting the cab mounts out, etc......

While you have super easy access you might want to throw a new OEM Ford cam sensor in this thing if it looks like it hasn't been changed ever. Or at least look at it and buy one to throw in the glove box for when it fails.

Cool, will do.... I'm gonna throw a fresh belt on it while I'm there too.. Keep the old as a spare, as it doesn't look horrible...

I kept a 10mm, ratchet and CPS in the glove box of my 7.3 at all times, they really don’t like rain, it seemed to be an every 20k mile item, about the time you forgot it’d be raining and it’d die.
Sold it with the truck, told the new owner and showed him how to change it. :woot:

I'm almost certain it's original.... $28 from KT perf....... i'll put the new oem one in, and keep the old as a spare...

edit - ordered....

took the one well out.... I'm not digging the insulation stuff.... I guess it's there to keep the plastic wells from melting?

also looking to do the p. steering pressure line, it's hammered...

Front seals leak, o-ring for oil pump/front seal housing leaks, front covers leak, oil pans leak and rust through and looking at driver side the oil cooler header where it bolts to the front cover might also be leaking. Only thing to do is get it spotless and run it.

so annoyed I can't get bagged blasting sand... friggin rona....

and I'm soooooooooo close to ditching these well insulation pieces... hate em...

Don't you live near the beach? Go scoop up a 5 gallon bucket of beach sand. If anyone asks tell them you're making a sand castle.

i hate doing that, cuz it needs to be sifted.. if not, you spend more time unclogging the blaster, than blasting... think I may have found some tho... just want a 1/2 dozen bags or so...

I'm gonna ditch the insulation.. my understanding is that it's mainly for NVH.. noise, vibration and harshness... and with the 7.3 I'm not too worried about that.. ;) thing makes a freakin racket already.... :haha: I'd rather have the cleanable engine compartment.... :pimp:

You check out eastwood? They have a store up in Edison or the main store out in Pottstown. I remember my dad buying blasting sand from them.

that's WAY too much work for sand... ;) that'd be like a 3 hr trip... :o they told me they have no bags being done cuz of a concrete shortage.. guess people are building....

think it's gonna be easier to just set up a sifter and do free.... gonna stop at the ACE on the way home tomorrow see if they have screen.... it's just a little time-consuming.. really just need to touch up the front 2 rails a bit and do the ds rims for now....
