got the ps well back in and the rad support/condenser...


I am gonna try out putting the trim back on, in black at some point.. see how it looks with the black pinstriping.....

tomorrow hopefully I can get the ps basically finished.. tray, overflow, etc... and I'd like to get the valence and lights in...

thanks.. I can't sleep at night if I slipshot my junk too much.. ;) hopefully i'll have it running again in 2, 3 wks...

yup, they're 8", so I'm good... the 35's will just make the rims look that much stouter.. :saweet: gotta re-shoot em in the right argent tho, maybe this winter in The LAB™......


i could prolly get away with a couple inches of lift easy with the well shape on these... soooo roundy.. but I think the 4" and 35"s will proportion out better aesthetically..






oh, I'm up in the air on the bumper, argent with the black insert or all black.. :dunno: i'll see once i get the lights/surrounds/grill in.... but I'm prepping it and zincing it in the meanwhile...

it's a rusty POS.. i actually had to cut the lower lip off so it wasn't a jagged finger eater... :hack:

eventually, I'm gonna run 35 x 12.5 Toyo MT's on the stock steelies.....

but, for now... the "smart" thing to do is just get a pair of the same BFG mall terrains that are on there...... $450.... when those 4 are worn out in a few yrs, hopefully I'll have coin to do the 4" and all new 35's...




"stooopid" would be to go 35's right now... commits me to getting to a SAS/4" much sooner than I think I can manage with upcoming Mutt stuff... the 12v needs to go in before I lift this...
 
oh, btw... I'm really tempted to build a front bumper for this over the winter... not exactly sure how many Mutt projects I'll be on...

but these deals are always pretty cheap.. I have the tube I'm gonna need... just need to get some strip steel... probably about $75....

got most of today in... body mounts are done.. nice to have it all solid....



rad/shroud is back in..... just gotta bring home a clamp for the upper.. hate them spring clamps, replace em whenever i get the chance...

the ps is ready for the battery, other than a couple wires and bolts...

if i can get another 8 to 10 hrs on it next weekend, I'll be close to having it back together.. still gotta mount the grill/handle, ds well and stuff...


following week fix the fuel leak and get the bumper on...

Thanks.. I think the whole combo is gonna look really good...

The front will definitely look better when I do a bumper... It'll be much sleeker and tight.. Not as bulbous....
 
Lookin good. I'm not a fan of amber lenses, I prefer clear with amber bulbs like they run on some newer stuff but that's just my personal preference. I know there's some guys on YouTube/FB that do some pretty sweet custom projector headlight setups for these trucks too.

I actually really like the amber.. i think it helps break up the front... i also don't foresee doing anything with the headlights.. they are new, the olds were soooo yellowed, I felt it was worth the $50 to have fresh ones.. and now that I'm looking at it, i like the headlights as is... was wondering if i would like the smoked ones better.. but again, i think it helps break up the front.... the bumper IS growing on me.. tho, I still think it's screaming for a custom Ryoken one....

drove the rig today.... love it.. filled the back tank up.. gonna run it pretty exclusively for a bit, shake down time...




oh, and since i was looking to be driving dec 1st.. i feel a little ahead of schedule... REALLY wanna see if I can get a reasonable temp weekend in, and get the sides shot in argent....

if it's 50, I'll squirt...

but I definitely want to address this low clutch pedal... I don't care if it was like that since new... engaging an inch off the floor is absurd.. gonna look at that aftermarket kit this winter maybe....


hate to say it, but i think I'll just do the intelligent thing and buy a fresh pair of mall terrains for the front.. run it a few yrs, kill em all, save some sheckles and do the 35/4"/SAS a few yrs down the road...
 
this rig, with an auto, would suck.. gotta be a dog... the 5 spd lets you run it.. actually performs good once that turbo spools up a bit... really wakes up at 25 hunge...

Clutch engaging right off the floor is usually a sign of air in the hydraulic system.

blacked out the mirror.. at some point, when I have a windshield put in, I'll do those moldings in black too..


the white edge discoloration annoys me more than the giant crack across it... at that point, I'll pull the Lund for the glass guy.. I think I'd like the rig better without it, but it will go back on for rust purposes at this point..
