yeah, I know the latches most of the pro ones run, and it just seemed overkill, and that this would work fine.. we'll see...

it's close now... just gotta install the gun and foot pedal, a lightbulb and the media now...
the springloaded trapdoor for changing out the media...
the latch setup...
here you can see the dual pickup tube that feeds the gun coming up thru the screen.... the gun siphon hose attaches to that tube.. than the air supply comes from a hose off the foot pedal...
it's close now... just gotta install the gun and foot pedal, a lightbulb and the media now...

That's exciting!
so... while doing yardwork and cleaning up truck parts behind the house yesterday, I found an old pipe wrench buried in the dirt by my gas meter that one of the workers must have left there years ago...
about a minute in the cab
it kills it..... blasts amazing...
light is decent, can see good, but I may add a bulb to the other end just to even things out, and eliminate potential shadows....
one issue I noticed was that I need to enlarge my intake some.. or my shop vac seriously rocks... cuz when ya turn it on, it practically sucks the gloves off the flanges inside the unit....
the minute you turn the vac on, they get all kinds of erect and what not.... 
I'll have to up the intake hole a couple inches to even the pressure in the cab out a bit..
when I get a few minutes this weekend, I'll do a vid blasting the tool box project..

so.. all in, on this project, you could do it for $400... it was 5 to me with the fancy ply, and their media.... but if you bought normal 3/4 exterior grade ply and used a local media, you could do it for 4.. $350 kit shipped, and $50 for the ply...

end of June, I'll be redoing the shrinkwrap wall, dirty room again.. hopefully pretty permanent this time.. the "wire wheel/buffer, file cab of death" will be moved elsewhere at that time...

I'm betting that gelcote is just the ticket to good life expectancy. Any other route and I'd just have to wonder how many blasts with some misguided spray would eat away at the structure.

after 15 to 20 minutes in the cab...

this'll be going zinc/ Ryoken Red and go in Mutt...
the cab works killer.. needs a light down at the other end fo sure tho...

Looks great brother! . I know what you mean about should have done this long ago. I should have never gotten rid of one of the three I've had over the years. Hopefully soon I'll build one. Right now, it's all about machine tools for me. You need to start building and selling these. I'd bet you could make money on them. For the guys that don't have the ability, or time, that would just as soon buy one.

You did an awesome job on this cabinet! I guess you could build one any width you want if you were wanting to blast axle housings.

hi! i remember reading your cabinet built. made me want too built one. i just bought a harbor freight model. used it a few times works great. just wondering about damage to my shop vac. did you use any special device or just the paper filter in the shop vac. i will probably be using it a few times a week, at a couple minute each time . and this winter on bigger projects.
