Ryoken's Guide to Rust Treatment and Bodywork 101

Did Brody's Blazer have the CB and whip antenna, I'm assuming so? If so, I'd say yes if you're going for 100% "Jaws" Blazer. The thing is, do you also go with the red bubble lights on the roll bar and "Amity PD" on the doors?

clamp on lights and the magnet door stickers for those occasions where you'd really like to be movie correct....

No police lights or signage....by order of my local P.D. :haha:

I'm trying to decide if a CB would be useful or maybe install On-Star

Is there anybody still out there in CB land? Truckers still on them?

I dunno about OTR truckers, but our garbage trucks don't have radios anymore. All cell phone communication. The older trucks that did have radios weren't CB though, it was VHF or similar...range was ~50 miles or so.

So the "Police radio" used in Jaws would not have been a CB? :dunno:

Motorola Motrac Radio Pack, Shown is the inner guts of the early 50 s 60 s 70 s radio pack, had glowing tubes in it and all. Probably the only radio in use in police vehicles throught out the country in various channel forms in that time frame. Made of all metal..Can be seen when tx keyed to dim the head lights of the patrol car

We still use them OTR.
And we use them on trails as well.

Chief, a self tapping screw won't, but a self drilling screw will.

It has the correct size drill bit on the end. You use a power driver like a drill, and it drills the hole and then taps it.
That is probably not the right size, I just posted the link as an example so you could see what it looked like.

I have used hundreds of them over the years. Always get more than you think you will need.
There is always a couple that the head strips out on, or the drill bit was not tempered right and goes dull before it finishes the hole.

These portable metal buildings with the steel pipe frames are put together with them.

Since I am new to 4WD and an old cop, my only contribution to this post is this. The head unit (Jaws time period) for the old Motorola police radio would look similar to this one.

neat! Although a radio is never shown in the Blazer in Jaws, it is implied by the whip antennae...the raidio is actually shown in the Jimmy in Jaws2, but that's 3+ years later

This has to be one of the most satisfying components I have installed yet....the mirrors are already paid for, I bought them a long time ago, and I got them for like $8.00 or something off eBay and they are brand new old stock.

Makes the door heavier and they shut easier:

Does your driver's seat lean slightly towards the center of the truck?

Never thought I'd say tripod mirrors look sexy, but those do look damn good on there!
