Ryoken's Guide to Rust Treatment and Bodywork 101

Yeah mine are darker in the middle. I never really noticed that before. Here's a pic from just now:

Two-tone insets were certainly options....some of them ridiculous plaid...and houndstooth

Could someone show me the rear of their seat? I can't figure out how high the plastic cover on the rear goes. :dunno:

Great, thanks! I can't figure out what kind of screws hold them on...I have tried regular screws and they don't stay put...what the heck is the screw supposed to "bite" to? :dunno:

I got both the seats bolted in, got the passenger seat handle painted.

I laid the console in there but it isn't bolted down yet.

I cannot believe how quiet it is...the seals, weatherstrip and sound pad and carpet really, really quieted it down. I hear the motor behind me now....

The pinion squeak is back...last time I drove it it went away after it got warmed up

Got the roll bar installed after I got the carpet sill behind the seats installed.

Got back home to realize it won't fit until move a lot of junk away from the outer wall so I can back under the top.

Damn that blazer looks good. Anyway, I pulled the back cover off. The screws screwed direct into seat frame. However one of lower holes is a tab with a threaded clip. It is only one hole through.

yep...look how long those screws are...I bet I'm not even getting through foam to the metal with the screws I was using....but I din't want them coming out the front

I wonder if a self tapping screw would drill into that seat frame?

Thanks...I need to "black out" the stuff in the rear wheel wells...but I've been hurrying the inside stuff for now to beat my rotator cuff surgery...when that's done I won't be able to touch the Blazer for a few months :doah:

not a chance... they are not designed at all for cutting, not even sheetmetal.. let alone a seat tube...

center punch and predrill... even than, that metal is relatively thick compared to sheetmetal... make sure you run the screws in without the back on, stopping and backing back out every now and than to form a thread... if they seem too tight, go up 1 bit size and screw in again...

Paul, what da ya' think? Was it worth all the trouble I caused you and bugging you for information and knowledge?
