Holy Mackerel...that looks almost like my skiing accident...first and last time I ever tried water skiing the driver gunned the boat, my feet went straight up in the air and the metal triangle handle went right through my upper thighs...had hematomas for months all down my thighs...

you using yer leg as a backstop?

oh yeah....the thinners bring the bruise...you must be one tough hombre...how did you get into workin' on boats anyway...
 
I remember my first time haulin' bundles of shingles to the roof...it was hot like now...first trip up the ladder was ok...2nd trip I started sweating profusely...third trip I started seeing black...apparently started to sway back and forth on the roof....I got fired on the spot...:doah:

I've never been able to tolerate heat...I like cold...

I work on computer systems...when I was 35 my back blew out...too many years on the loading dock...I moved back in with mom at the time and went back to school to learn electronics and PC's...been doing that for almost 15 years now...I get tired of it sometimes, but I can't do labor anymore.
When I work on my truck, I truly pay for it...no sleep, back spasms...pain in the legs and elsewhere....and now the rotator cuff..that's why I won't be doing this again after I finish this...I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't want it so bad.
 
I have been a furniture maker, musician, private detective, anesthesia tech, musician again, loading dock worker, auto parts grunt, repo man, alarm installer...finally computer tech...:doah:
 
Very interesting! I guess i had you pegged as some kind of higher end sales rep/phone jocky type for some reason. I dunno.

Odd professions for somebody who isn't really a "people" person....I think what it shows is that I never really knew what I wanted to do...except I did want to be a marine biologist...because of Hooper....now I wouldn't mind being Chief in a little seaside town....Ryoken is "sharkin' for a livin' working on real boats....

just kind of fell into it... worked at the resto shop, than the collision shop.. when i got out of collision, i went to work for a mobile detailing company.. part of that was detailing boats... which i was quickly regelcoating, etc too... than it moved on to full service repair from there...
 
...the beaches closed signs are up and the record heat is bound to make more flock into the water....better stock up on wine and apricot brandy...it's going to be like ringing the dinner bell...

I stopped by Quint's grave site over near Menemsha...still can't get those images out of my head...think about 'em mostly near every 4th of July...

Hendricks is across the island patrolling the old church crosswalk with Polly at the red hat ladies Sunday social...I don't get the extra summer deputies until the 4th...

Hooper phoned in his regrets again from Brisbane, Mayor Vaughn is on my back about the beach signs and I am in the doghouse with Ellen...

I used to think one man could make a difference here in Amity...
 
I watched Jaws again this weekend...I don't know how many times I have actually seen it...it's a lot...but I spotted the Blazer in a spot that I have never seen it before...I can't believe I have never seen it there because it's right in front of you...I guess it's because you are locked into the conversation between Brody, Hooper and Mayor Vaughn...
I am going to try to get a screen grab...

I can't see it well enough to tell, but it looks like the Blazer minus the lights and door signs...like they filmed this scene real early on and hadn't even dressed up the Blazer yet...

I seem to be caught is an endless cycle....I am just "tickling" the surface with 400 grit only allowing the weight of the block.
When I am over some orange peel, I keep breaking through to get all the orange peel....then I spray more primer and sand it through again...this time in an area near the spot primer...am I spot priming wrong?

I can't get much lighter touch and I got a whole sleeve of 400 so I am going to stick with it...

Am I not spraying the spot primer right or not thick enough?

your apparently not putting enough on... you really shouldn't have much in the way of orange peel, that stuff lays out pretty smooth....

and you should certainly have plenty of body to it to not sand thru just trying to remove orange peel from an otherwise flat surface... it is a fill primer afterall...

3 solid coats...
 
I know this looks like "back to the drawing board" but here I have put on two big fat solid coats. They both went on slightly dry...must be the temperature..I mixed them accurately.

So far, all the little things I can see have been puttied, and I ground down the rocker/quarter seam so it is more even now.

I should be mostly done with the fillers...except for watever shows up after I sand this primer down. The dry spray is likely to cause some orange peel or rough areas.

what gun are you shooting the 2k with again? are you sure your vent is clear?

the 2k is a bit on the thick side, but full wet coats with little to no orange peel are pretty easy to achieve with various gun set ups...

it's getting there mang....
