been that way for almost a month down here...no rain in almost 30 days
was 104 today again...and muggy...

Well I have the doors and quarters exterior done except for a couple spot prime spots I will hit tomorrow....got over half way done on the tailgate. I'm almost done with the outside...

Don't know if you can tell the difference, but it is a lighter "talc powder" white than it has ever been.

The jambs and the inside are going to be a biatch...don't know how I am going to do that...knees don't feel good anymore...maybe laying on side...

well, ya obviously don't have to be quite as anal with that as the outside sheetmetal... reasonable sand and maybe finish off with a scuffpad as a stepsaver...

I think I will remove the tailgate tomorrow and put it on the horses and finish it...and then that will allow me to get in and out of the truck bed easier too...

I am trying to visualize what will actually be visible when I get the carpet, side panels and everything in....any thing that is visible I can spend more time on and the other I will not try so hard...

there ya go... I find folded up moving blankets work great for laying on when working on interior stuff..

Maybe I need to hire all the neighborhood kids and give them a dollar to sand a square foot each....and get it done quick...

If I have an area inside that has orange peel or a dry rough area could I not spray another couple wet coats on and it would fill it in? or is that a bad practice?

it's bad practice to spray over stuff that isn't wellsanded, unless it's fresh..

but yes, you could scuff it and douche it wet and get a better surface to sand...

I saw this 8x8 on craigs list...I would need to build one 4 times that size for the Blazer...

I'm getting really excited to see this thing in color now!

me too...I just came in from sanding on it again and got hot, sick and threw up...I'm done until next weekend.

The doors, quarters and tailgate are all ready on the exterior...I had started on the bed interior when I overheated...

yeah, clean that up, puke on primer will cause fisheyes...

better than me.. my work today consisted of putting 4 screws in my dashpad... :weld::hack::pimp:

It was mostly coffee and then Sundrop....

I got to go over the parts I think I got done and "bare hand" it...everything feels right but I felt one rough spot underneath on the rocker that I can't see unless I get down on the bad knees...so I guess I am not completely finished with the core exterior yet...:doah:

But it's just a spot here...a spot there...the inside of the tailgate is a bear...having to do it all by hand with the maroon scotchpad...and of course I have what I call "orange peel"...I may be calling it the wrong thing...but it seems like I hardly ever spray primer and it sands completely flat...little speckles almost like the specks on a football...

Hey Chief.
Don't know what plastic sheeting and lumber runs these days, but you might get a head start with something like this.

Or something like this if its big enough.

Even if you don't put sides on it to make a paint booth, it will keep things cooler when working.

If you want to get serious about covering it, this outfit has fabric buildings of almost any size.
If you pick carefully, you might find one that will work as a paint booth now, and protection for parking it later.

I don't like car covers for that.
