Ryoken's Guide to Rust Treatment and Bodywork 101

It doesn't have a hood yet or bumper valances or tailgate inner cover yet...it will Monday

Before i actually start posting the pics, I just want to say how strange it looked to me being shiny...I have seen it for so long in flat buff primer that it had become my image of what it was supposed to look like. :haha:

Looks like a million bucks, Chief. This thread has inspired me since I first joined this site. So much in fact that my K5 is lying in pieces in my garage.

How does it feel to have it painted? Speech...speech

Truly awesome!! At this point I'm sure it about brought a tear to your eye, such a major milestone in the build...

Jesse appears to have done a great job painting it, I'm sure you've already told him.

I can't wait to see the next pics as it slowly comes together....hood, trim, door handles etc.

OK, its getting time for a sysop to step up. Someone with access to the raw data needs to download all these threads and figure out a way to either make them downloadable or at least printable.
Maybe go through and edit out some of my stupider comments.

Then, when its pretty much finished, print out at least one copy of really good quality paper stock, and put it in the truck. Suitably bound, of course. Maybe in Sharkskin....

Give one to Ryoken, of course, and one to Jessie so he can appreciate the magnitude of what he has done.

The only thing I am worried about now, is the first scratch..............

it isn't truly done till the hood is on...it will look a lot more complete when that is on.

Awesome chief!!! It turned out just beautifully. Nice to see all the hard work you've put into it finally pay off.

Before i actually start posting the pics, I just want to say how strange it looked to me being shiny..
Honestly, that is part of what I was feeling looking at the pics. I've only ever seen a stock looking one in old faded magazines or with faded paint jobs so you start to kinda think it's supposed to look that way. :haha:

Congrats Chief !!!

Congratulations !!!

It looks awesome. Wow I hope I can get 1/2 as close on my '88 K5.

Now. as to the subject of this thread and bringing it's knowledge to all.

My 2 cents is that we wait for winter, after Chief Brody has had his summer fun. Then we give the job of parsing, chapterizing, etc of this thread to him since he will have nothing to do with his free time.

Vote for the Chief !!!:whistle::whistle:

Yeah, I would love to be able to print out this thread for a historical record.

But this is only slightly more than half way...I still got to do the top...and that's fiberglass...
