Installed the new heat exchanger today, it took a gallon of coolant. On a good wide open pull it seems to be about 20 degrees cooler. I was seeing 140 or so now it didn't evendors go past 120. That's with the small reservoir hopefully it's a bigger drop with the new tank since that's over a gallon more.

Oh and the new muffler sounds horrible, with the windows down its like an air leak..lol..when on the throttle. So I yanked it off, I do happen to have a pair of dynomax 3 inch mufflers. I swapped those in and it sounds alot better with no rasp, still not perfect but better. Tired of the exhaust nonsense, too hard to make a good flowing exhaust sound good.

Flo Pros are no good huh? I'm thinking I'd like to change out my Magnaflow for something that has a better throatiness and idle. I'm not sure what I want to get as I don't want to get droned out of the cab.

Not the 2505 anyway, dual 3 inch in and out, sounds like a leaf blower..lol. No performance sound at all. I really liked the magnaflows but the rasp plain sucked, i'll have a sh!t pile of mufflers soon. I was thinking borla or jones..lol...but i might just settle and say fock it....the dynomax are fine.

So i called magnaflow about the 12589s being too loud, they asked do i have an x pipe or resonators. I said i have high flow cats and 4 inch round magnaflow mufflers in front of the big mufflers. They suggested to remove the 4 inch round since they don't help with my application and add a set of 6 inch round in its place, with an x pipe before them. That way the exhaust is toned different, both sides are equal and it should do the trick. I ordered the 6 inch round mufflers and a jones x pipe from summit, the exhaust shop will charge me 50.00 to put em in and weld it all up. Also instead of the tail pipes going out at a 45 in the corners i want it changed to be behind the trailer titch and 45 at the ground, only seeing about 2 inches of the tips. 150.00 to rebend new stainless tail pipes. The 26th it will be all squared away, i hope anyway. I thought about how nuts this is, the headers were 1200.00, magnaflow glass packs 60.00. 12589 magnaflows 115 each, tips 45 each. high flow cats 100 each. That's 1800.00 and i still need to add another 400. After this if its too loud too bad...lol. The turbo muffs are for my 83 since the flowmaster 44s seen their day so i didn't loose money on them atleast.

Did anyone see the jones mufflers are the same as magnaflow..? Add a 1 before the jones # and thats the magnaflow #, same specs and 1/2 the price. Jones doesn't make em all but close to it.

After that we are back on the search for power, ported throttle body and smaller pulley will be here,

You aren't kidding, exhaust these days is getting ridiculous. It seems $8-1200 for a cat back exhaust is the new norm. And headers are running the same. That's not including the accessory parts like quality gaskets, fasteners, O2 sensors, spark plugs, and wires. Then you gotta tune it for a few hundred more. Add it all up and you're into your exhaust system for $3 grand. :eek1:

Exactly, I went thru all that and the sound still isn't right...lol. It will be tho. There is no going cheap unless u want to do it twice....or 5 times..lol

I ordered a new blower pulley last night, this is the smallest that will fit on the blower snout. Actually be over spinning the blower but its not constant so it won't kill it, i'm not the 1st guy to do it and i won't be the last. I'm running a 2.7 now, the new one is 2.55. I should see another 1 psi at wot. I measured the snout at 2.220, the new pulley is 2.270, .050 or a hair more than 3/64.. should be plenty of a gap. Searching now for the best place to buy the ported 90 mm throttle body, from what i seen a few shops sell them done and you send the core back or they do new ones. Looks like 425-450 with a 300.core for a used one and 500 for a new one. I have a new one now so i' not sure what to do. Also hope to have my inter cooler coolant reservoir soon, instead of waiting on back order my buddies going to build one out of aluminum that holds more. Its not going to be as fancy, it will tho have a radiator cap and 3/4 an fittings.

Damn that's a lot of money for a throttle body. I had the one off of my LS3 Camaro ported by the shop that dyno tuned it. Before I sold the car I pulled it off and put a new factory TB on there and kept the ported one for the 6.2 Silverado. I bought the new one on Amazon for $140:
ACDelco 217-3153 GM Original Equipment Fuel Injection Throttle Body with Throttle Actuator https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NZZ9K2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_AfiCzbEYH1FQZ

If I remember correctly, you can't use the LS3 throttle body because your blower sucks it closed right? But maybe you could use it for a core charge? A new LS2 (or whichever stronger one you're running) is roughly double the price right?

The ls3 I had at 11 psi I blew shut, that was 156.00 new. I sold it on ebay, the ls2 was 290 new on ebay. The ls2 are in the 350 range now. The core has to be what u are using so ls2 for ls2. Yea it's alot for what it is for sure.

I ended up ordering last night a ported 90 mm ls2 throttle body, peak speed shops has em for 425. They also have a 300.00 core charge included in the 425. So i'll bolt it on and if it seems to work good ill send mine back. So with the ported 90 mm, 2.55 blower pulley and the lingenfelter 100mm maf i should about have that part all maxxed out. This will be as much as this blower can do. The iat temps with the new inter cooler are impressive, doing data logs yesterday the hottest it got too is 125 and that's great, since it was 91 and humid.

Smooth flow 2.55 pulley came in today, machined real nice. Still only 13 psi, slips after that. Seems more reponsive tho, unless its just me.. Going to try sliding the adjustable idler down more to see if that helps. If I get to 14 it would be perfect..lol. The throttle body will take a week to ship so as soon as it comes I'll toss it on.

This pulley is a bust, blower temps went 30-40 degrees hotter and in comparison to the last pulley there is no more airflow. So its not doing anything besides making it worse, back to the old pulley, the 2.7 will be the smallest pulley i can go efficiently.

The x pipe and 6 inch round by 20 muffler/resonators were welded in up front. It's super quiet now, sad part is it's almost too quiet...lol. No drone and decent tone, a hair louder than stock.

My peak speed shop ported 90 mm throttle body came in today, worked perfect right out of the box. Idles really good, more throttle response but the tunes rich now from the change in airflow.

The trick turbo intercooler reservoir will be in on thursday, I'll get the rest of the parts to plumb it on the weekend. Unless summit has em in stock since they are -12an fittings to run 3/4 heater hoses. That and the intercooler cooling fan should keep it alot cooler. Also going to add some water wetter to the coolant to see of that helps too.

Instead of the raw pulley i posted above i'm going to try a newer style 2.6, hopefully this gets me where i want to be. http://www.z-industries.com/magnuson-tvs-pulley-o-2-60-raw-8-rib/

If this actually works like it says then i will probably order a nick williams 102 mm throttle body, This will max my current setup and maximize airflow, with the 100 mm maf and the 102 throttle body i will have the most flow it can take. https://vengeanceracing.net/nick-williams-boosted-102mm-dbw-throttle-body.html That's if i can make myself spend that kind of money....or just say enough..lol.
