I love my LT. Out of warranty and approaching 40,000 miles. Time for the upgrades.

It's not perfect but the truck is a great start. So much better than the previous generations of half tons.

Yours have the squeaking front axle shaft issue?

No, so far no issue but only has 11k miles. It's been good so far. I'm thinking tho doing cv axles for a trailboss.

Yeah, when I do shocks and struts next year I'm putting Bilstein's for a Trailboss on and running the CV's until they die. TB CV axles after that.

I like your thinking, ill run the cv's until they are junk..lol.. why fix what isn't broken. I probably should of just did bilsteins instead of spending a million on the icon stuff.

I just figure that there’s a bunch of guys running sketchy leveling spacers lifts without too many issues at 2 inches. Seems like 3 inches and/or ham fisted installs are what wrecks the standard CV’s.
Don’t get me wrong…I’d love some Icons, Fox, King, or Bilstein 6112 coilovers but I don’t need them. I can justify the TB 5100’s to the wife and slip in a 2” block in the rear.

Viola! It’s a Trail Boss!
Then the bigger tires.

Mine gets aligned tomorrow after work, I'll take a look at the shafts and see if there's any grease being flung out of them. If so then I know its turned up too high. It's been so far so good. I just start seeing 3.5 lift guys complain about cv shafts . The biggest one is factory ucas. I have tubular icons so I'm good on that one..lol.

I didnt need icons either, that was a more money than brains deal..haaaahaaa. i do like them but would I do it again, no probably not. When I was looking the truck was new and the parts were limited, Icon had it and instock. I should of waited and did bisteins or even the eibach kit. Even the stock trailboss lift looked good.

3.5” is 1.5” over the Trail Boss lift with all stock components. I love that these trucks are built with that much “capability” into them. However 3.5” is just nuts.
Still, you see the guys on that GM truck forum wondering why their shit is broken or not right after leveling a Trail Boss.

The motofab spacer lift was a craze..lol.. until the upper ball joints started exploding. You see the most problems with the readylift 4 inch spacerlift, now that is nuts. You see alot of stock control arms with guys running 12-14 wide wheels and on top of it heavy mud tires. All that extra weight and leverage is real nice..

Out of all the companies rough country's 1st 3.25 design came with a new crossmember, you had to notch the frame for but it dropped the diff and fixed the cv angle. They stopped making it and did the new 3.5.

I'm at 3.5 now, with the tubular control arms and coilovers but my cv shafts aren't super steep. If it ends up a problem I have 1 of 2 thoughts. Trailboss cv shafts or just put a zone 4 inch on it and the angles are straight once again.

You could probably drop the front diff an inch or so with spacers. Seen a few people do that on earlier generations to get better angles.

Random - any rear window leaks? Mine does it a little. Need to reseal the rear window.

From the looks of it I don't think u can drop the diff without cutting. This setup is different than the previous style.

No window leak, cheap truck= flat glass. Lol

Hmmm, have to look at it. I want to say Cognito has some kind of a drop kit.

Well, now that you mention it I don't know if that rear leak is only affecting the sliders or all rear windows. I'm out of warranty and the repair if they don't break the window is $150 or so. $500-600 if the glass breaks. A couple guys on the GM Trucks forum have had good luck with this 3M window sealer and just goobing it in the top so that it fills the cracks and gaps the factory install missed. There's enough space between the glass and the window channel that you can get a good amount of it in there without it being visible.

My wife's 2020 doesn't have a leak but it's got a nasty whistling sound when there is a strong cross wind and we are over 70mph. Can not seem to pin down where it's coming from but it sounds like the windshield. Maybe it is the rear window?

Check the spoiler thing over the rear window maybe? Make sure it's aligned right?

I drive 35 minutes highway each day and there's no whistling at all.

I've gotta time it with the weather and get the truck when it's windy and do some testing. From what I can see everything looks fine.

Here's the newest plan...

The 19 is a custom, no steering wheel buttons for the radio/cluster or phone. I bought a gm steering wheel with the buttons, bought a programmed to my vin high country cluster and a harness. The harness is just a wire that goes in the clock spring end pin #9 and the cluster end #20. That should make it all work, should I'm saying because it's not known to work with the 19 but does on the 20/21. So its trial and error , wish me luck...

I really hope it all works, would be awesome. The high country cluster is super nice and so is the heated steering wheel. I should of just bought the fancy truck but what fun is that..lol.

I ALMOST bought a Custom but really wanted the newer drivetrain. I liked the 5.3/6 speed combo in my ‘11 and the wife’s ‘17 Yukon but mine is just better. Interested to see what the 10 speed is like. They’re all geared so low now it’s great…then double or triple OD on the other end. Even better.

Pulled the cluster, steering wheel and airbag out. Ran the new wire from the clock spring to the cluster. Put the high country cluster, ltz wheel and ltz dash piece on. Everything works perfectly, it's like a new truck..!!!...haaaahaaa
