Me too! I also love your inability to leave well enough alone! Reminds me of what I would do if I had more time and money! Good work!

Thanks glenn, I love this truck too..lol. Honestly y5mgisi I've been collecting parts for months to do this change, I wanted to do it this way in the beginning but was too cheap. But i realized it needed to be done, yes the parts added up quick so it took a while. After i bought the kings i couldnt stop..lol. I ordered the kings in january and the rest piece by piece, overtime at work contributed to this part of the project.

I'm not doing this job this time, I can't take the credit for it at all. A close buddy of mine is getting his new fab shop rolling along and took on this big project. He drew it all up and took measurements. He has a plasma table, mill and lathe. Super sharp guy, he does excellent work. I hated the last set up. I think it drove like an old dump truck..lol. should be good now. Revalving and rebuilding the foa rear shocks right now. They aren't coming apart too nice and the oil smells awful. Putting them back on with new seals, oil and a fresh charge. The valving seems a little better now for the rear. Here are pics of the new shock mounts, the right one is hard to see but you can see the bottom of the mount. Also a flex shot to see how the bags react, check front fender rubbage(none) and one of the traction bars installed. The last pic is of the wheel well, everything fits perfect. I ordered new fender liners since the old ones are pretty hacked from the last setup. I'll get it back tomarrow afternoon, then finally get to drive it.

4 link done

Well heres a pic from getting gas, it's just about finished. Put the inner fenders in and adjust the steering wheel, lengthen the abs wires and we are good to go. Rides a lil firm at the moment up front, I'm going to drive it a bit and go from there and make adjustments as needed. Its way smoother than before, i will say what a differance. The swaybar size works perfect and the flex pics are with it connected. The shackle flip softened the rear a ton, made a huge differance. The rear has 5 inch bds springs and the flip. The traction bars work so nice that you cant even tell they are there. The 4 link bars are set in just enough that the steering stops are turned way in, alot tighter steering than before too.

I sold the h2 wheels and put the weld wheels back on. I'll pick a new winter set up soon. I was thinking another set of mtr's. I also put in a new set of fender liners, cleans it up alot nicer. The truck drives and handled really well, a lil firm on the big bumps so the valving needs to be changed. I'll have that figured out shortly.

Just had the ac quit working and it needed a pile of parts. I changed the ompressor, orfice tube, drier, tensioner and belt. So with a flush, charge and leak test it's all good....nice and cold.

Too much reading and no pics, sorry.........As for the stiff ride, that was all taken care of last week. The kings were revalved softer and the secondary rate stops were moved up to about 1/2 inch from block heigth which is over 2 inches further up than before. The stops were only about 1/2 inch away making the ride soft(222 rate) and when you hit a big bounce the lower (500)would come slamming in.Down south motorsports helped me choose the proper valving. Since i sold my winter wheels i bought another set of goodyear military mtr's on black steel wheels. I will use my stock chevy center caps and lug nuts on those.

Now that its all fixed i've been looking to add more power. At 1st i was going to do a head, cam, intake etc swap. That would of made me about 100 hp, it would of come to with quality parts and me doing the labor to about 4k. Now the intake alone is 900 of that and the heads to bump up compression were about the same. I was about to do it and what ruined the idea was riding in a supercharged stock 6.0 that has been done for years with 8-9psi. the truck has 175k on it and runs like a clock. That has about 140-150hp added with a tvs1900. Needless to say i needed a magnacharger instead, i had to have one . Yes a little more money but it will help me in about every way with power that i need. Im going to do a new oil pump since the pickup o-ring is bad. While i'm in there it will get a new timing set also and since the intake will be off too im going to do new knock sensors. I also picked up a nice set of taylor wires, sparkplugs and a fuel filter. Since my fuel pump is pretty new and is a good gm pump that part should be good. That stuff will all be done at the same time. This will be the complete kit, has the heat exchanger, pulleys belts, added fuel pump etc. its about a 7-8 hour job for a normal person. Here is a link for one..

Since the new straight axle 4 link was done i wanted to redo the exhaust since at about 4 inches of uptravel it hits the left side crossover. The hd trucks are dual exhaust back to the muffler so i purchased a set of stainless works long tube headers and the dual connecting pipes. That will give me nice flow on the exhaust side to help with the supercharger. I am also looking now for a complete exhaust system to complement the rest of the parts i bought. The corsa or the magnaflow kit looks really nice, but im not sure yet.

With all of that added ill need the tune for the charger, headers and also turn off the rear 02 sensors. I purchased the blackbear autocal package, that way i can down load my stock tune in the handheld then email it to them. They will make the adjustments needed, ill load that in the pcm and go back and forth a few times till its all taken care of. Usually it takes about 3 times to get it where it needs to be. The links i posted are examples, there are better prices i have found after a few hours of searching. After all this is done in about a month, i am off the second week of august, i hope everythings here by then. Probably also going to start collecting the parts to refresh the 4l80e with a little extra beef for the new added power. So with having the front axle, rear axle, all the suspention, transfercase, driveline, brakelines, fuel lines, tranny lines, power steering lines, pump, box alternator and just did the ac compressor plus stuff i forgot etc.. done within the past year this thing should be pretty darn awesome. Later on this year i will also be doing some body work, not that it really needs any. A few weeks ago i picked up an 06 hood and grille. The lower rockers and my steps are getting linex sprayed on them and anything that needs to be painted to get it up to par will be done. Then it should be done for awhile....

look in to relocating the knock sensors . I have read that's a fairly easy / common mod . so if / when they go bad you don't need to pull the intake . . . in your case super charger .

On that note I'm not sure, they are stock originals on it now. If new ones are as good as those then that locations fine. No big deal to pull the intake off if needed. I'll take a look tho, if it's nothing crazy then for sure I'll do it. Thanks for the info on that one. Hopefully all that I'm doing is worth it..

guys over on ls1tech have few good write ups .

and just lengthen the wire is all after bolting them in out side of the block .

been a bit since I read up on this .

do read a lot on BEAR to get out a lot of times if water has got in them .

Its been a few weeks since i have last posted, the stainless works headers fit perfect. The corsa exhaust on the other hand didn't connect to the headers so pipes had to be made up. I removed the stock cats and replaced them with magnaflow high flow cats. Wasn't my favorite idea but the header pipes the way they run and the stock cats would never work. Its louder that what i wanted but after i put a set of resonators in line it should be alot better.

Next thing was the magnacharger, i had to move the tranny cooler down to fit the intercooler in. Also had to buy a crank pin kit so i could pin the balancer to the crank. That was suggested since the balancer is only bolted on with a taper. now its pinned in and is all good. I left the knock sensors in the factory spot when i replaced them, they are all sealed up and new. The oil pan was even super clean when it was dropped, the nicest I've ever seen. I put in also a new gm oil pump with red oring and thats all sealed up too. Other than that stuff everything else worked out great, started up and runs perfect. I can't see its full potential yet since the base tune needs to be gone thru to make sure all the sensors work perfect and all the readings are good. The afr #'s looked fine from the driving that i have done.

Thankyou, i appreciate that.. i'm really trying this time to do it once. So far so good, the suspention seems to work and look perfect. It now runs great,:waytogo: its a little too loud and raspy but i can deal with that. I have a few more things to do that are small. I bought the comp cams trunion upgrade kit for the rockers, and a 160 hypertech thermostat.

What i have in store tho(nto for a while) is a little larger, i picked up another 03 6.0 to build a forged motor that can take a good amount of boost. Still looking for another 4l80e to have done. This all tho will be a slow build since its not going to be cheap.

I found out something yesterday, the tune looked great but it doesn't seem to crazy powerful. On the boost gauge at full throttle i am lucky to get 4psi. Also the left upstream 02 sensor isn't reading too good until it gets hot. So i called and the propper pulley for 9psi would be 3.2, i have a 3.7 :doah:. So ill have the 02 swapped out later today and the pulley as soon as it arrives.

Love this build.

Funny about the pulley, that should make a big difference :waytogo:

Not really funny after spending that kind of cash, i was really bumbed like wtf is this all it does...:dunno:....but....i can handle it:haha:. Anyway it only gets 3 psi opened up which is really bad. I can't wait till its close to 10..:thumb:

Ok, so the 02 sensors came in for the upstream, the rear 02 sensors were deleted in the tune. The fans will come on sooner at high speed which seems to help some. The 3.2 pulley makes this thing run really awesome, although it gets about 7 lbs of boost wide open. I'm not sure if its how my gauge is hooked up to get that reading or not. It seems to move off the line effortlessly and pull really hard. For such a big truck it runs real good, rather impressive.

I am adding a bigger tru cool trans cooler under the intercooler instead of the little stock one, i picked up a longs tru cool 40k. That being 8x22 should fit pretty nice. Also bought fittings that screw into the cooler to snap the stock lines into it.

A few new things for the time being anyway, i hooked up a pcv catch can to keep the oil/etc from entering the supercharger. I have it hooked up that both valve covers connect to the can and the can connects to the port on the supercharger. So far so good, i started to smell oil before the can so now no smell. The 3.2 pulley works great but i would like boost to come in alot sooner, so i put on a 3.0. I have now about 8.5 pounds of boost at wot and it starts to come in after 2k. I had to order an magnuson hd tensioner for belt slip, it seems to slip with the smaller pulley when cranked up. The tune seems to do very well

I just purchased the comp trunion kit for the stock rockers, seems to be a good upgrade from stock. Also the 4l80e is going to get a transgo hd2 shift kit, it will be on the softest setting tho with it being a daily driver. With this kit it will help with slip from the extra power i have added.

With the new trans cooler my temps on a 90 degree day have been around 180, with the new cooler they now go to 160-165, pretty nice change. I'm thinking ill install a 160 degree thermostat so the radiator is cooler and the trans should be too since the trans fluid still goes thru the radiator.
