sas on 2003 2500hd

I have em for a stock truck with a one inch puck. That way with my 2 inch blocks they are an inch or so away.

When it’s time for that I’ll start measuring and figure out my plan.

With the sumosprings I've hauled a few tons of topsoil, sand, stone and pulled my car trailer. They helped a ton, these trucks have stiff rear springs but sag pretty fast.

After with a 100 miles on the trailboss suspension the front has stopped settling. It's staying right at 3 7/8 lift total. The front seems to ride n drive really nice, the rear is under shocked and bounces a little much. I'll put a set of better shocks there and sell these cheap..lol.

Known a few folks who just put the Bilstein 5100's on the back and called it good.

Hell, those are low mileage, genuine, real OEM Rancho Trail Boss shocks! Get their value out of them!

Lol, I can't see the stock rancho 5k being worth too much. Prob 50 each is too much. They have a whole 100 miles on them. They do ok on normal roads, super wavy roads tho they bounce like worn shocks. Still tho I'm kinda pissed I spent all that money on the fancy stuff I didn't really need.

I'm not really a bilstein fan, I hated them on my hd years ago and they are alot of shock on our wrangler but it needs them to be stable. I'll prob buy a set of xl9000 for the rear. Keep it all the same brand. Gotta love em when they get nice n rusty..lol

I’ve always liked Bilsteins. Had good luck with them.

My shocks are getting “floaty” now at 62,000 miles so honestly anything with some dampening ability would feel like an improvement.

I can see them being floaty, the Ranchos seem to be pretty soft new. Mone just broke 16k so it will be a bit before I get that far.

Maybe I'd of liked bilsteins better I dunno. I just wanted the super firm ride to go away. I had bilstein 5100 rears when i first did the readylift 2 inch. They were too firm compared to the front. They were firmer than the icon 2.0s.

I like a controlled but supple ride. I can deal with it not riding like Grandma’s Oldsmobile as long as that doesn’t mean it rides like 12” lift rearched springs.

Sending you a msg.

The rancho xl9000 fixed the rear bounce. Set on 10 they feel like bilsteins, set on 5 they are perfect. I know they won't stay nice long but that's fine. There is no real part # for these, rancho sells a kit for a 3 inch that uses 1.5 rear blocks. I used the online instructions to get the right part #. These are 10 inch travel shock, probably only ever use 1/2 of that.

I think factory shocks are too short actually. Definitely more droop in the rear than bump but they set the shocks to halfway this limiting droop. Not all that noticable at factory height but once you push it up some they definitely become your "limit straps" lol

Factory shocks are for a 2 inch block, from trailboss. When the bottoms disconnected they fall 3 plus inches below the mount. The new ones are longer by about 1.5. When the rear hangs on the lift you have to push up on em to get em on, I don't think they are too short. I do think they are under shocked, not enough valving or pressure making the rear ride like a boat and bounce. Not hard or firm just basically float.

Looks like stock trailboss rancho 5k are 15-25 travel my new ones are 16-27.

Sure they'll work in static droop but definitely not when flexing.

Why wouldn't they tho, if a 10 inch travel shocks set 5 up and 5 down I don't see why there would be a problem with stock leaf springs. On the lift at full droop the don't max and my truck loaded with a ton of coal they don't max. I'd think that's as extreme they will ever see. These trucks don't really flex to well anyway, more like the frame flexes..lol

Ordered 2.5 rear blocks, it needs the little extra rear height. Will sit 1,/2 higher in the rear. Should be just enough.

Been a few years since I've been here..

The 2500hd had a few things done. Was paint corrected, I had to change the psc hoses n ram because of a leak. I changed the lower links and joints to get more caster. Also had the track bar mount redone. I just bought leather seats, carpet and a full center console.

The 19 the Ranchos are long gone, I put fox 2.0s all the way around, I did the peak sway bar mounts and 2.5 rear blocks with 296 65 20s.
