Shop build. HEAT!

These global industrial butcher block tops are what we use for our mechanics at work

They hold up to a hell of a beating and most are still being used that are 10 yrs old or more. Not bad priced either.
I personally don't like metal tops for tearing into things because stuff slips off, Mars your surfaces, and it's noisey unless it's 1/4 or thicker.

I actually priced some and once I pay shipping I could have 1/4" bent how I want it for a similar price!!!

I don't mind thinner metal tops for stuff. I plan on having it bent all the way down the lip of the table so it should be nice. But lots if other stuff first

Also I got fancy here on this shelf.

Usually for me I do this as easy as possible but there are some things I'd like to start doing.

Such as the edge on this shelf. It needed a bit of stiffening but I also wanted a lip above it. So I cut a groove into it with the table saw. Never really done that before. Took several passes. But it fits pretty tight.

I think I'll do this on other shelves too. But a smaller piece, and a deeper dado

Did you use a dado blade or just a normal one?

I've cut 'em offset like that to make them easier to screw into the OSB. I'm guessing Eric has similar reasoning.

Either that or he just doesn't care about symmetry. :haha: :rotfl:

I didn't have the proper bit or a long enough screw so offset it is.

Good greif haven't updated this

That's a crew cab one ton with a hideous winch mount on front 9 ft service bed with a huge bumper. AND IT FITS!

It is so nice to have room

A table I got from a buddy which matched my little bench almost perfectly.

The hard part now is keeping stuff out as much as possible so when I'm done with these trucks I can get back to finishing the shop!
