Stomis' 94 Street Truck - Snail Trail

I was played with a few times on this crap .

ask for a trac # or call ups them self and see if they have a record of a package from XX address toy you and if so info / status on it .

had a guy yank me around for 2 weeks and I read the lable print date in the tiny size it was and it was created 2 days before shipped . he said they screwed it all up when it was all him .

So I've been having some really bad thoughts about this thing the last couple weeks. Not like get rid of it bad thoughts, more like wanting to do more stuff to it bad thoughts...

Like fuel cell in the bed and ordering a set of slicks and skinnies since its not ever going to be a DD like I had thought it would.

Also been pondering weight reduction. Ditching the power steering, skeletoning the front bumper, maybe building a light weight core support and even going with drag coil over setup for the front down the road that will ditch almost 200lbs off the front end.

did you ever get the harness back?? I saw the other thread but I didn't stick with it to see if there was a conclusion.

No but I'm not worried about it anymore. His supervisor is on it and I'm expecting it either this coming week or beginning of next.

Well the fuel cell thing was sorta for a reason. I'm going to have the bed off and there's rust in the gas door I need to take care of. Shaving it would certainly do that.

Plus I have an ulterior motive in that I need a sending unit for the work truck and there's a brand new one in that tank. The cost of the sending unit would get me half a fuel cell. I'm not buying anything extravagant. Just a 16gal plastic with a sender.

Well Russell sent me a PM today to inform me he saw that Josh aka Voodoo Injection was fired from Cobalt offroad center, aka the only leverage I had towards getting my stuff back. I immediately tried to email him to see whats going on and got a mailer error. Followed by trying to go to the website which no longer exists, followed by the facebook page which no longer exists.

Sorry dude, I just posted this picture in Greg72's thread but I think it really should be for you. I'm sure it's how you feel.

This showed up today. 15gal. I went with aluminum so I could add an intake pump into it and it was only $30 more than plastic. The plan is to put this in the bed against the cab with the battery next to it.

Still need to order a drop in unit to cut into it in order to run my intank walbro pump. I cant stand external pumps and I already spent the cash on the 255LPH so I might as well run it how I want.

I'll be using this setup.

Ive used one of these before in order to get fuel injection into a stock carbd tank in a 32 chevy I did with an LS1. The guy hated how loud the external pump we originally put on it was and I couldnt agree more. I was happy when he brought it in the this revision. The nice thing is if I ever do something nuts down the rod and need dual fuel pumps I can just cut in another one of these right next to it. As you can see it also has a slosh tray built in.

As far as whats going on with the truck. Kert shipped me body mount patches today. Ive got bushings waiting to go with that. I spoke with Josh formerly of voodoo injection roughly a week ago and we went through all the run downs for the harness and the perimeter for the mailorder tune. Going to shoot him a message and see if he finished it up and when I should expect that.

So I like actually work on this thing. Not just bought something for it or had a thought about it lol.

It was cold as **** but Ive been crazy bored to the point where its getting hard to shut my eyes at night lol. So despite working in a meat locker I went at it for quite a while today.

Started off the removal.

**** this thing who needs that.

And **** this thing too, way over rated.

Got to this point

She'll need a skim of mud but came out decent for butt welding .035 fluxcore... Did I mention I need to go buy a bottle of Argon? O wait only 7540383473489r3498483948 times in all 5 of my build thread posts.... :doah:

Then I started mounting the fuel cell in the bed. I put it offset from the center because the battery and possibly a small tool box is also going to occupy the firewall of the bed. I was really adamant about not having to fish a socket with a 10 ft extension behind the fuel cell and curse and yell. So I took some fuel rail brackets I had laying around that didnt work with the Fast intake and modified them.

This became my hook for that end of the strap with a u bolt.

You turn the strap flat with the bed, slide it in, and twist it 90* and it locks into the notches in the tab.

Pretty much done.

Im going to order some sort of isolator to put on the straps and under the cell. Im just going to put a bolt up through the bed, nut it to the bed floor nice and tight, and then use a poly lock to draw the strap down over the cell. Im not really too certain if I'll need to put some sort of spacer in there or if its fine just tightened up on the cell with nothing to bottom out on. Guess I'll have to see if it comes loose.

My package from Kurt should be here tomorrow which has my patches in it for the body mounts. So one day I'll have to perform surgery on the damn things so I can get the body back down on the frame.

we just run neoprene strips for the fuel tanks in the boats.. those are 1/4".. for that I'd say 1/8" thick would be good..
