Stomis' 94 Street Truck - Snail Trail

McBible has it, in all sizes.. next day.. I like the adhesive backed, but they have plain for about 2/3 that cost... I'd recommend it in a med hardness.. like this stuff..

durometer can be thought of like skateboard wheels... they are generally in the 80 to 90 range...

Man I havent worked on this thing in two months...

I finally got some stuff together to do the fuel cell. I decided not to buy the intake tray kit like I posted on here. Why you ask? Because buying things is for the weak :D

So I whipped one up at work. It literally took me an hour to actually make.

Used aluminum to avoid needing any coatings/rusting. Big box just showed up with all my stuff to plumb from summit and mcmaster. Im going to run two studs through it instead of a pig tail. One isolated for the hot and one for ground.

All this required I cut a giant hole in my brand new fuel cell lol.

My harness should be here by the end of the week, again...

Are you concerned about the sump not letting enough fuel in? Or pretty confident that it will be ok? Are you just kinda going to aim the return at the pickup sock?

No, and yes. The return is going right in the tray, Im not using the fuel cell one it came with. Im pretty confident it will work fine. I basically replicated that production unit that I know works great, except this has room for dual pumps for the future and didnt cost me $200.

but will it work

p.s. no jinks . good luck !

Idk looks pretty tits to me. He never integrated my body harness into it as he was really leery with my factory one being all cut up and trimmed down. Everything is labeled out though. So Ive got to get the engine harness on, clean up my body harness and hook the 3 wires up, plus fan, plus IAT sensor since we decided to switch to speed density.

I need to finish my fuel cell setup, fix the body mounts, bleed everything and then figure gauges out. Ive basically just decided to say **** it and put gauges in the thing too. Im looking at Speed Huts. Theyre made in the US and super customizable. Probably gonna just start with a 4.5in GPS speedo, wideband O2, and fuel level for now and run the autogauge temp, volt, oil pressure I have for the time being until funds allow me to switch the rest.

Wow finally!

For your gauges, look into Dakota Digital they have some badass set ups though I don't know what they offer for the '90s body style.

I'm gonna do a custom aluminium dash when I do the gauges. Probably do the speedo, fuel/volts, and wideband for now. I really wanna do the big 3 ³/8 gauges for the temp and oil pressure in a line across the dash like an 80s grand prix

Got some wiring sorted out. My underhood harness is all taped and cleaned. I laid out the LS harness and basically realized the super tall LSXRT intake makes it nearly impossible to route the harness the factory route. So Im going to lengthen a couple spots on the harness and basically flip it over so everything is backwards. ECU will be under the dash, passenger side and the fuse panel will be on the passenger side firewall.

I also finished the tank unit today for the fuel cell. Just needs to be flushed with fuel.

Im really considering just tearing the dash out and buying a piece of aluminum... :doah:

Ordered up some gauges because I dont really trust the factory ones to monitor my new motor. Ive almost got my harness ready. Couple more wires to add in and Ive got one leg to extend in it then loom it. I really wanted to go for it and do full blown custom gauges from speedhut but I just cant swing it money wise. So I went with the next best thing IMO.

These are going in an aluminum piece where the storage pocket is over the heater controls.

Is going in a single gauge pod on the dash next to the tach.

I'm of the 14% of the modern public that thinks whiteface gauges bring the ghey... carry on....

I cant do white face gauges cause I like my dash to where I can barely see the needles..... most wont even dim far enough to suit me. white faces LOOK nice to me actually in the right dash. just cant use em lol
