Stomis' 94 Street Truck - Snail Trail

Man I plumbed a car in -3 today with steel line. I really liked that setup. Im gonna resist though considering I dont think AN is DOT compliant (not that I really care) but I already got all the stuff to do IFF...

Well, man life gets in the way...

Shit fell apart at work with my idiot ex-boss, got a new job, was getting ready to move, new boss (also my very good friend) got a prevailing rate job which means I got the opportunity to make really good money again doing construction. Only downside is now my wife lives 7 hours away and I only get down to see her every other weekend. Plus the 4 hour round trip for work. Needless to say Im a little spent.

BUT I did finally find and order some stainless steel lines to put my front brakes back together!

I also got a new slave cylinder since mine was leaking.

@Team208Motorsports Im really sorry I havent been in touch. Im going to get the truck together next weekend, Ill data log it and when you're free we'll get the tune done. You just let me know when. I also wanted to talk to you about getting my 08 2500 retuned, the 6L80E shift points are retarded, I hate the electric pedal torque management curve shit and I know you can fix it up.

that sucks the fab sh*t fell thru...... gimme a holla if I can help...

Eh it was for the better. Guy was a total shit heel and had no idea how to run a business and I suffered for it. Not to mention him constantly bringing his personal crap to work and then everything in the shop falling on my shoulders because of it. But I digress. I may give you a holler when I pull the trans.

Dug into this some more. I had a somewhat life jarring experience recently that kind of made me step back and realize I need to have fun once in a while in life so I decided to start bodyboarding/surfing again. Everything's all good. I caught my first rain day of the summer today and since it was thundering I couldnt go in the ocean lol so I dug into the truck.

Brakes fully replumbed with new hardline and stainless soft lines throughout.

I also ditched my exhaust.

Big ol pile of weight. I had built the exhaust down one side of the truck when it had its stock gas tank and the intention of being a nice weather daily driver. Now that this thing is basically just a saturday night special and cruiser I opted to change the exhaust out to be a little more, well free flowing, and loud. Very loud. Its going to get 3in duals instead of 2.5 with flowmaster street outlaw straight through and dumps in front of the rear tire.

I also decided to make a change on the paint with the truck. Its never going to get painted, at least not at this stage of my life, and I want it to look half decent. So the steadfast flat black with a bright red bowtie on the grille it is. Im panel painting it once piece at a time to keep it from getting stripy. Got the fenders done tonight and planning on the hood and roof this week. Also I highly recommend no one ever use plasti dip. What a cocker sucker to get that shit off things....

I was trying to get a pic of my buddies old 454 SS to share with you but he can't find one. This truck reminds me of it. I was going to buy it but it didn't work out because of some unforeseen debt that came up. Yours makes me want to do a build like this! You probably mentioned it already but what did you use for paint?

Looks nice, you going fiberglass front bumper?

Yes

Rustoleum Pro Enamel Flat Black. The big silver cans. It stays wet really long. I made a huge mistake not priming the fiberglass good though... It soaks it up and causes it to dry fast and striped it. Every other panel Ive painted has looking almost as good as a legit sprayed flat black.

Rain day at work so I got to it.

Did the exhaust.

Size/weight difference is huge obviously. I went with 3in now and flowmaster outlaws. I wanted to make some changes to gear the truck up to support more power in the future. Part of that also will include a second walbro 255 and regulator so there will be one pump for each fuel rail, probably this winter.

Its all flat black now too. Finally getting there.

Pulled the trans finally and got the new slave put in. Tomorrow Ive got to make a brake rod for the manual brakes and bleed everything and it ready to be data logged tuned and front bumper...

Nice progress!

You think you will make it to the track before the season ends?
