Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

Thats starting to sound like a good deal. I'm going to hate you if I have way more money in a 6 lug and you are running a 60 and ff.

I sold the 60/ 14 that had been under Sarge for $800, that was with 3.73's ,a locked up rear brake, and dodge external hubs on the 60 ( I kept the gm hubs and the best spindles, etc) ...........so yes $500 I would jump on it ......you won't lose any money if you changed your mind.

Swettysblazer's 1991 K5: The WonderChicken. Axle Hunting/Questions....

Apparently the yoke is worn out on my rear axle and won't hold a ujoint snug. Everybody cross their fingers :thumb:

Wrong thread :doah: but everybody is in here anyways.

$500 for TONS, do it, definitely a better deal than a 6 lug 14bsf. :deal:

I'm waiting for the guy to email me back. If not, the guy with the 4.56 ones still has them.

I'm really at a crossroads here. The guy with the tons sounds like he will take $600 for them. I really don't have any plans for this truck to go larger than 38's maybe, and I feel like the 60 might be overkill for that.

On the other hand, the 3/4 tons with the 4.56's are still available for $100. I think that I am talking myself into the tons because of the price, but I am not sure if that's the right thing to do.

If the tons are already freshened up (brakes etc) then you are basicly at the same money either way, the 3/4's have definetly been outside for a while and I'm sure the brakes will need to be done.
Its 8 lug either way, I say go tons, if you decide to build something else later you've already got them and in the mean time .......you won't have to worry about much with a 60/14 under the truck.....the 3/4's with 38's you will still have the 10 up front....

What gears are in the Dana 60? Buy both sets. Install the 3/4 ton set, and build the Dana 60 at your own pace.

I think $500 is a great price. That's what josh was able to get the D60/70 set I have on the Wagoneer. I still put another $500 into them between brakes, u joints, etc. So just keep those costs in mind too. 4.10s are + nice too.

If they were here, at $500, I would just buy them anyway, even if I didn't have an immediate use for them.
